On the agenda for today....live my truth + dare to change with a brand new podcast episode - Finding Your Voice ๐ŸŽงโšก๏ธ๐ŸŽค
.
.
If you're in the process of finding, creating and fine tuning your voice, keep reading, this episode is for you.
.
.
In a world where everyone is constantly speaking and sharing, how does one find their voice. And what the fuck does that even mean.
.
.
My first encounter with the "find your voice" mantra was four years ago as I began to create a blog. Every writer kept telling me to "find my voice", be patient, keep working at it, and eventually - it would come.
.
.
The mantra came up again in yoga teacher training, "find your voice", use other teachers for inspiration, keep practicing, experiment, allow for failures, don't take it too seriously, and your voice will come.
.
.
The lesson came again as I started teaching yoga online and creating a community, "find my voice", preach what I want to teach (and learn), share my story, get uncomfortable and the people will come.
.
.
And then again, this mantra reappeared when starting the @truthanddaremovement podcast, "find my voice." Speak what you know, articulate your thoughts, inspire others, and be yourself in the process.
.
.
Gosh damn. This "finding your voice" is hard work. It requires you to step into the arena of failure, criticism, judgment, facing fears, but most notably - it requires you to be you.
.
.
In today's podcast episode, @carlbott and I jam SO HARD about this process, our personal journeys, offer advice, and hopefully leave you ready to start on the path of finding your voice too.
.
.
Now enough talking, let's start listening! Tune in by clicking the link in the @truthanddaremovement bio!

This is my... that's a wrap move ๐Ÿ“ธ
.
.
Thanks for doing all the squats this morning & making my shapes look so damn pretty @kimberly_lauren_photo ๐Ÿ”ฎ

What to do when you're inspired as fuck: sit back, listen, like really listen, ask questions, learn from that person's story, and then share it.
.
.
This is exactly what @carlbott and I did in this week's podcast interview with @thejournaldeck. We sat back, received her life experience, mentally took note of how she's navigated this thing called life, and then we shared it. .
.
If you're ready to receive this ass kicking conversation and be motivated to just start, make that hard decision, or learn how trust, this is THE conversation for you.

Rolling into Monday like ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
.
.
Went swimming this morning, whoa it's been almost a decade since I swam for exercise and damn, it felt SO GOOD. There's something about the monotony of it, the silence of it, the breath work, and of course, the weightless feeling of being in water. It's definitely my cardio spirit animal.
.
.
Funny story though.
.
.
As I swam lap after lap this morning, I was reminded of my past rendezvous with swimming, a moment in time that still brings a smile to my face. It was the summer after freshman year of college and I had gained 20 lbs. I had gone from a size zero to a size five, sold all of my jeans and shorts, and was convinced I'd never be small again. I felt uncomfortable to say the least. Well, three months later and I lost the weight, regained some confidence, and took that habit back with me to campus. Now if only I knew the concept of patience and self-love then, I wouldn't have had to buy a whole new wardrobe. But, that was part of the journey and what still brings a smile to my face to this day ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

When you think you've surrendered, surrender more.
.
.
I like to think of this surrender thing as the messy middle, the hard space, scene two of a story, or sometimes where you're simply sitting in shit.
.
.
Essentially, it's the hard part.
.
.
But each time I pursue anything, the messy middle becomes easier. It's more familiar. I know it's tendencies and mine.
.
.
Fear. Procrastination. Distraction. Multi-tasking. Excuses. Negative self-talk. External living. Lack of internal focus.
.
.
And instead of rolling in the shit, I've learned to just step in it. I step one foot. I trust a bit more. Step another. Trust harder. Another step. Trust deeper. And so it continues until I'm through it and on the other side (achieving whatever the goal is).
.
.
So my question is....What's your messy middle? And how are you surrendering to it?

I'm in the process of being more present, attempting to put the phone down, still in major transition mode, and I'm simply not in the space to share, inspire, and brainstorm all the words, thoughts, and feelings. So here's an old yoga photo paired with my present moment. I hope my moment can inspire your moment to not feel pressured, to not share just to share, and to practice more presence. Sending all the feels to Live Your Journey and happy Monday ๐Ÿ’ซ

My only job is to help you rise, so that you can help me rise, and together we create a beautiful feedback loop of rising, lifting and loving. It's that simple. I rise, you rise, we all rise.
.
.
The only caveat is we have to do it together. It doesn't work if we're disjointed, separate or exclusive. Inclusivity breeds union, strength, connection, and community.
.
.
And if you're part of this community, this "Live Your Journey" space, then it's my deepest hope that you're also part of the @truthanddaremovement community. Because both are parts of me, both are how I'm sharing with this world, and both are how I plan to continue this journey. So if you're not part of "this part", then come join the tribe. We need you. I need you. And you need you ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Precisely my thoughts....

Let's talk about half happy baby. I like the whole happy baby, but the half is where it's at (for my body). Not only is my entire spine lengthening, but my low back is finding comfort, ease and a big breath of fuck yes. Then there's my hip, inner thigh, groin and hamstring being stretched and opened. This is an obvious yes. Switch gears to my lengthened leg, it's also releasing, stretching and creating another fuck yes. And lastly, half happy baby calms my mind, softens my external self, and allows me to dive deeper into my internal Self.
.
.
If you also love half happy baby or full happy baby, go grab yourself the free yoga guide on my site <thejourneyjunkie.com>, it's under the most recent blog post. The guide details out my favorite closing yoga sequences to seal your practice and is a great tool for yoga students and newer yoga teachers.
.
.
And if you don't go do all that, no worries, just do half happy baby ๐Ÿ’•

A picture is worth a thousand words or so they say. So what is this picture worth. What was "really" happening in this moment.
.
.
Well. We were attempting to be models. We were fake laughing to the point of actually laughing. We were sitting on a dirty ass sidewalk after two hours of shooting. We were sweaty. We were unsure if this podcast thing would work. We had zero experience in this realm. We spent money where there's no money. And we did a wardrobe change in the Starbucks bathroom.
.
.
I say all of this because in that moment and in every moment of living our truth + daring to change, we have to Fake it till we Make it, But Believe it.
.
.
In this week's @truthanddaremovement podcast episode, we interview Ariel about this concept, how she's used it to guide her career, grow as a female boss babe, and how future + current generations of women can use it to live their truth + dare to change.

I've been eerily quiet over here. Life is spinning quickly at the moment. We're selling all of our shit. Moving in less than two weeks. Leaving a special place. Learning what it means to operate my own business. Weird how I could side hustle. But now doing it all the time feels strange. There's so much to do. Yet I'm not accomplishing anything. But where's that fire I had. It's as if the busy-ness of hustling kept my flames burning. And now. I feel a bit lost. Where's the inspiration. Why isn't my go-to way of thinking, moving and being working. Why does the day still drag on. Why is it so quiet. Why am I deep into moments of distraction and comparison. Why could I care less about taking pretty yoga photos. Why. Why. Why. Well. The most obvious reason is I'm a fucking human and right now, that's why.
