I’m furious! A 9th major investigation into the wool industry by @peta was just released. This time 24 #Scottish #wool shearing operations and farms were visited. Similarly to all of the previous 8 investigations of 72 sheep operations in the USA, Australia, Argentina, England and Chile — workers were documented beating, stamping on, kicking, mutilating, and throwing sheep around. THESE ARE STANDARD INDUSTRY PRACTICES. How many more investigations do we need where the industry is “shocked and saddened” by workers violently slamming sheep’s heads in gate doors, punching them in the face, throwing them to the floor, standing in their necks and abdomens, gashing them with shears, and sometimes even skinning them alive to convince the fashion world (especially the “#ecofashion” world, that the wool industry is ruthless and corrupt? Do not buy wool! Do not design with wool. It isn’t eco-friendly (there are 1 billion sheep on the planet bred mostly for wool gobbling up vast energy and resources and emitting massive amounts of methane) and it certainly isn’t just a friendly haircut. .
