🌃 Last night's routine 🌙
.
🔷@kaianaturals Juicy Bamboo makeup remover wipes - I don't typically include my makeup remover wipes in my routine (have finalled finished through all the Neutrogena wipes in my house), but thought I should since it is a part of my routine and I'm using something a little different right now. Planning to just use bi-phase or micellar water after I'm done with wipes though.
🔷@dhcskincare Cleansing Oil - Brand new cleansing oil opened yesterday!!! Liked it on the first use so far.
🔷@huxley_us Be Clean Be Moist Cleansing Gel - oh how I've missed you! The Kiehls on the trip was decent, but I really missed how gentle this one is. Non-drying and still lathers well.
🔷@sum37_official Time Resetting Toner - glass bottles scare me but this toner is so pretty and I love the consistency. I suspect this might be giving me small white heads though.
🔷@bentoncosmetic Moist & Mild Toner*
🔷@skinmiso Pore Tightening Serum - one drop on my nose. Some mattifying effects over time, also recently reminded I need to use it up before it expires.
🔷@timelesshaskin Vitamin B5 Serum* - Since finishing up my B5 toner, I've been using this serum instead. It's surprisingly watery and I only need a couple drops for my whole face.
🔷@olehenriksen C-rush Brightening Gel Creme* - I realize I have too many creams open, and most of them are full-size...trying to get through them in the middle of summer is a struggle, but I'm definitely trying!
🔷@belifusa The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

I organized my stash last week after putting away all my new mask purchases. I have big dreams of finishing up 2 of my storage tub/box things by the end of the year (realistically, I'll be proud if I can finish one of them fully) so I'm really trying to make a dent in my stash this month. No where near @haninibun's level though....maybe we do a giveaway instead soon? 😉
.
The betacarotene in this @vprove_official Rose Betacarotene Glow Phyto Therapy Mask screams "carrots" for me and I was almost expecting a tinted mask, but it's a pretty standard mask with clear essence. Thanks Vy @wokwithbeauty for giving me this mask!
.
Mask has a pretty strong rose scent and the fit could've been a bit better, the chin area started looking like a goatee shape after a couple minutes. I ended up only wearing this mask for 15 minutes or so. Oddly enough, I started to get a tingling sensation where I'd been having some breakouts on my chin, so even though it felt totally fine on the rest of my face, I didn't want to risk it. Since the mask still had a lot of essence left, I ended up leaving it on my legs for a little while. I was surprised by how well the essence absorbed. Both my face and legs had no residue or stickiness left. My brain said I should use a cream to follow-up, but I still forgot, so I woke up the next morning feeling like a lot of the moisturizing effects were gone.
.
Not sure if I'd buy this particular rose version again thanks to the tingles, but I've seen this brand at Marshalls and might be interested in other products from the same brand if I find anything interesting.

Japan + Taiwan beauty haul, Part I. Our trip schedule wasn't built for shopping, but I think I still managed to get a good amount of shopping in. My mom and sister just returned (they stayed a bit longer because no work), and brought back the remaining products I left in their suitcase. In return, I brought back the majority of the things we bought in Japan bwahahaha.
.
🍯As far as masks go, I did most of my shopping in Taiwan. The only ones I bought from Japan are the Utena Puresa masks since I loved the collagen one and wanted to buy the other two versions. They were on sale for less than $6 a box.
🍓Also picked up Lululun masks because Japan-editions. Hooray for super affordable duty free!
🍶In Taiwan, I somehow ended up doing all of my beauty shopping at Cosmed this time. For whatever reason, I didn't step foot into a single Watsons this time.
Lovemore masks were buy 1 get 1 free so I picked up two types I didn't get last time.
🌿These Neogence masks were also 1+1. I wanted to test them out since I'd never seen them before and my mom wanted to use some immediately, so we picked up the brightening and moisturizing versions.
🐌Timeless Truth had a small sale, so I got their snail (obvs) and the hydra-intense black charcoal mask. I originally wanted the green oil control clarifying version, but didn't see them! I also saw larger Timeless Truth bundles at the airport, but with the sale, it was more cost efficient to get them at Cosmed instead.
🎀I also picked up a Hello Kitty x My Scheming Snail mask from 小三美日(Xiao San Mei Ri). They were less than $1 USD because they expire in early 2019, but I couldn't resist snail + Hello Kitty. The rest of the sales in the store weren't that great this time around, so I opted for Cosmed instead.

Another sheetmask brand that I haven't used before?! Well this one's a half-truth, I've used a @mediheal_official 3-step pore strip before, but I remember I liked the piggy packaging more than the product. I haven't tried their sheetmasks though, so thanks @ptitelady for sending their Placenta Revital Essential Mask Ex.
.
First thing I noticed about the mask was how bomb the fit was. It fit my whole face and didn't really need to adjust the area around my nose and mouth. The essence was a little thicker than water and the mask material was also a bit stretchy and easy to apply. The mask had a bit of a scent, but it wasn't bothersome.
.
I wore the mask for a good 40 minutes and removed when it started to dry out. My face felt more moisturized and it also helped to even out a bit of my skin tone (though not as obvious as the My Scheming from a few days ago).
.
Overall, I really liked this mask, but I'm pretty meh about placenta as an ingredient. I have a couple mediheal tea tree masks in my stash that I'm excited to test out now though, I hope they're as good as this one! Got any other mediheal recommendations for me?

I brought this @laneige_us Essential Power Skin Refiner Light toner with me on my trip after testing it for a few days in Napa first. On the site, it says the toner is good for oily, combo skin and quickly moisturizes without leaving a shiny finish.
.
I found the toner to not be as hydrating as I anticipated. It's pretty watery and I can pat on a ton of layers, but never really felt like my skin is well-hydrated. Instead, my skin starts to feel a tiny bit tacky from not absorbing everything smoothy; I think less layers of the Moist version may work better for my skin. I also found the fragrance to be a little too overpowering and artificial from time to time.
.
On a side note, I'm a little salty that the bottle cracked about a week into my trip. I had a plastic bag for it that kept it from leaking most of the time, but I lost about 20% (10ml or so) of it on the flight back (I think it was stored upside down in the flight). At least it helps me to finish up products faster...sigh. 🤦
.
I received this toner as part of a xmas gift; the full size runs for about $25~ dollars online. It didn't work all that well for me so I don't plan on purchasing once I finish it up. Aside from the cleanser, I brought the rest of the set with me on my trip and will review the other two soon!

I can't believe this is my first time trying out a @tonymoly.us_official I'm Real mask! They're such a common starter sheetmask, but for whatever reason, I never decided to purchase and test out even though I've seen them pretty much everywhere. Marshalls and Amazon both have them for decent prices/bundles, but I think Ulta and UO have them super overpriced.
.
I received this one from @dear_mandu, thank you for sending it to me!
.
The material feels a little papery and doesn't have a whole lot of stretch - I accidentally ripped it while placing it on my forehead. Mask fit was just ok for me, I thought the adherence could have been better, but I think that's a combination of the mask material and watery essence. It also had a sweet aloe scent that I thought was a bit too artificial to be pleasant.
.
I wore the mask for a little less than 30 minutes and didn't really see much beyond some decent hydration. I didn't have high expectations since it really falls under the "starter mask" category for me, but I think the Etude House therapy air and MBD masks are better for the same price range (Innisfree as well, but I'm more neutral about those).

A ton of empties for June! I always feel a bit weird hoarding what is essentially trash for a month, but it's also super satisfying when you end up with a good month like right now.
.
😐Honest Beauty Refreshingly Clean Makeup Remover Wipes - these 7 sheets went by fast. Gets the job done but I prefer the Neutrogena material, these felt like those towelette packets after eating greasy food. WNP
🙂Cosrx Acne Pimple Patches - I liked these and have a back-up, but want to test out some other pimple patch brands first. RP
😀Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner - Loved this one, lasted about 9 months of pretty much daily use. WMP again, only holding off on saying yes since I have a few other eyeliners in my stash. (so hard to resist stocking up in Asia!)
🙂Benton Snail Bee High Content Lotion - my skin liked it, but I didn't like the extra time needed to heat this up in my hands to apply without white streakiness. Not enough love to repurchase, took way too long to finish. WNP
🙂Benton Cacao Moist and Mild Serum - nice hydrating serum, but goes by way too fast! I finished it in <2 months of non-daily use. WNP
😍Swanicoco The Bio Theraphy 1st Essence - from a short list of FTEs that I've tried, this one is my fave so far. a little pricey, but WR
😐I'm Meme I'm Cleansing Oil - gets the job done but nothing special, I think it's discontinued by now. WNP
😀Leegeehaam Hyal B5 Toner - really nice toner with a thicker consistency that I love. WMP but I like the Isntree HA toner better for the same consistency.
🙂Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbert - decent cleanser, I like it for travel but no immediate need to buy again WMP
🙂Ryo Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo for Normal/Dry Hair - I have another back-up, but I'm going to rotate out to a different Ryo shampoo for now. I already RP, but might not buy again for a while.
.
Dismal looking sheetmask stash this month, but I attribute partially to the fact that Lululun was a set of 7. Benton aloe mask was my fav, though all were solid.

I visited Kanazawa as part of my Japan trip, where they produce almost all of the Japan's gold leaf and it gets used a lot in their local crafts and foods: lacquerware, chopsticks, tea, coffee, ice cream, and skincare!
.
I didn't end up buying any of the skincare there (very touristy prices), but I was flipping through my stash yesterday and noticed that this @my_scheming_tw Gold Enzyme Moisturizing Black Mask from @melitseng.kbeauty had little gold flakes in it, so this'll do :) Thanks Meli for sending this to me!
.
I'm always a bit biased towards My Scheming because I can't really go too wrong with their fit and that means a ton for me, although results have varied from meh to great so far. This one also didn't have as strong of a charcoal scent as their other black mask lines, which is a plus too.
.
The essence is a little thicker than water and felt cooling on my face. I wore the mask for 40 minutes and took it off since it was dry around my nose and mouth area. It was still pretty saturated around my cheeks so I masked my legs for a little bit too. Face looked and felt more moisturized afterwards and I like that it also evened out the redness on my cheeks.
.
I liked the mask a lot and would be interested in trying out others in their golden collection. Based on this one experience, I saw better results from this mask than the previous couple my scheming masks I used. I can't say for sure that any of that result is based on the gold though (which I highly doubt anyway), so more is testing needed!..aka excuse to buy more masks....These do tend to run a bit pricier than their usual masks, they come in a box of 5 for a little over $10 while their other black masks hover around $14-15 for a box of 8.

Since finishing my Breni Yellow and Origins charcoal masks, I've been opening a few of my other wash-off masks to work through. I typically only have one clay mask open at a time, but like playing around with other wash-off masks.
.
I opened this @tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask last month and I'm already down to the last third. These small mask sizes go so fast! The mask contains two types of vitamin C and a 10% AHA blend from 7 different fruits (does this count as my daily fruit serving?). I was little apprehensive about the AHA amounts but it's surprisingly gentle and doesn't irritate the more sensitive skin around my cheeks.
.
To wash off, I used a damp sponge to gently remove everything. My face didn't feel too dried out and it looked more evened out and a little glowy-er. I did a full-face for my #maskselfie but I prefer using it on my cheeks while I use a clay mask on my t-zone. My only minor complaint is that it smells similar to the Bonvivant clay masks, and I'm not a fan of that scent.
.
I received this mask as part of a gift set (I think it was the Skincare for Makeup Lovers box), but @sephora sells the full 50ml size for $68. I find the price tag a little daunting for how much product there is, so I don't plan on purchasing but might look out for these as minis or gwps from time to time.

Happy #fourthofjuly! 🇺🇸
.
I'm finally back in the US and already feeling sad about my vacation ending - it never feels long enough does it? My skin hasn't been the happiest on this trip, although with the constantly changing environments, I suspect it's primarily environment based. The skin on my cheeks felt rough and a little bumpy a few days into Japan, but calmed down in Taiwan and less than 24 hours at home, I still see some of the bumpiness but can't really feel it on my face anymore. Weird.
.
I went the lazy route with my first mask at home and decided to use the @nooni_official Fresh Cut Golden Kiwi mask since the circles tend to dry faster than a usual sheetmask.
.
I focused the dots towards the center of my face, although if I had more, my jawline could've used a couple more as well. I ended up wearing it for less than 20 minutes out of laziness/jetlag. The circles were still damp when I removed them and probably could have lasted for another 5-10 minutes or so. The packaging had an artificial plasticky smell but it wasn't noticeable on the mask itself. This was the last of my nooni masks from a previous memebox sale, and they're now discontinued. I don't think I would have repurchased anyway since I don't have a particular fondness for these point masks other than to look a little ridiculous for a few minutes.
.
PS. I was really excited to be surrounded by my skincare products in my bathroom when I got home. I judged myself a little bit, but I feel like you all here would be able to relate to that feeling 🙄

I tried out my first modeling mask right before my trip and it didn't go so well....
.
I noticed a couple days before my trip that this modeling mask was about to expire sometime during my trip so I decided to break it out and use it up. The instructions on the back of the cover are easy enough to follow, although I wish the "water line" wasn't based on having NO powder in the cup. It got a little complicated to dump out the powder, fill the cup with water up to the line, then dump the powder back in to mix.
.
Considering this was my first modeling mask ever, I had no sense of consistency, but figured it would look smooth enough to apply to my face (something like batter right...?) It ended up looking really chunky and I felt it was hardening in the cup so I decided to just apply whatever I had on my face anyway. I was only able to apply about half of it on my face, the chunky consistency made it super hard to get an even layer.
.
Personally, I thought the color looked really poopy and had an oatmeal consistency 💩 ....so for the sake of NOT leaving embarrassing things on the internet, no #maskselfie this time. The second picture shows the consistency in the cup, you can use your imagination.
.
After waiting the instructed 20 minutes, I went to peel off the mask. The mask came off in large chunks (yay oatmeal) and I used a cotton pad with toner to clean up the residue on my face, as suggested on the paper. My face felt nice and cool, but really not worth the effort for me. I'll stick with my sheetmasks. I'm also hesitant about the texture, which could also be attributed to near-expiration, who knows?

@bentoncosmetics recently sent over their newest product release for me to test out and I'm so excited that they launched a new sheetmask! I wasn't as in love with their snail bee sheetmask as I thought I would be, but I really love the effects and material of their new Aloe Soothing Mask pack.
.
The material is a very thin sheet, and exactly the kind of super juicy material that I love. The essence was nicely cooling and absorbed quickly into my skin without being too drippy or leaving a residue. From the ingredients list, they tote that Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water is on the top of the list with 48%. I also love that there's no scent from the mask, which is a plus for me!
.
I wore the mask for just a little over 30 minutes but probably could've worn it for longer next time around. My face felt and looked hydrated, and I used a light cream to seal it all in. I'm not ready to repurchase these yet, but I'll definitely be going through my stash this summer - it seems like a great mask for the season!
.
I received these masks for free in exchange for my honest review from the brand. All opinions are my own.
