What a difference a few weeks makes!!!
We first attempted this hike on March 26th and right from the trailhead encountered at least knee deep snow, the crust only held you some of the time. We made it in a couple of miles before turning back (and reading that on the same day another guy made it until the snow was waist deep with a very fragile crust which turned him back before getting the to the falls). Today there was a bit of snow towards the end but nothing we couldn't tramp around over slowly over.
The falls were so relaxing as the water was sliding over rock rather plunging into a pool... Great hike (which will be inaccessible starting next week as they close the access road while improving it before opening again next year).
