Little studio corner full of curiosities. Mostly minerals and hands as you can see.
These days have been though, with all the awful things happening near and far. Of course, there are big gleams of light because if bad things serve a purpose, it may be the purpose to stick together and stand for what's fair, human, beautiful and so many people are moving, raising their voices, standing for those in need, inspiring others to do the same and demonstrating that goodness is bigger than hate. That gives so much hope in these dark times.
As an immigrant, I know the loneliness of being away from everything you know, your family, your home. I only think how it must feel to be so far from home because of war and persecution, searching a safe heaven where to catch a breath and live in peace. Canada has been so welcoming, so much so that I consider this MY home, my place, where I belong and the place I love with all my heart. This couldn't have been possible if not for all the awesome community and friends that have surround us and take our hands showing us what Canada is about: a beautiful, inclusive, tolerant, peaceful place where people is kind, generous, respectful, supporting. That's what makes this country such a WONDERFUL place. So when news about the shooting at a mosque in QC city came out, it felt like a punch in the gut. All the suffering of these families that have lost a father, a brother, a husband, a son, and for what? What does this leave us as humans? Our planet is but a speckle of dust in a never ending universe. We are here together and our life last just a moment, it's so awful to waste it hating each other for what we believe in, our skin colour, the place where we were born or our preferences. We are better than that. We are all humans and we are all in this together.
