Popcorn parties are the best parties, especially when made with @Organicvalley ghee with @Snixykitchen! (ad) I’m sharing my go-to savory popcorn that Jay and I make on a weekly basis: Golden Curry Ghee Popcorn, topped with curry powder, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, and plenty of melty ghee to stick on all the good stuff. It’s a super addictive and moderately healthy snack.

Ghee is the ideal fat for making stovetop popcorn because it has all of the rich, nutty flavor of browned butter, but none of the milk solids. This gives it a higher smoke point than most cooking oils, and keeps it friendly for the lactose-intolerant, too. ½ tablespoon Organic Valley ghee, plus 1 ½ tablespoons melted ghee for drizzling
¼ cup popcorn kernels
½ teaspoon curry powder (more to taste)
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
1/8 teaspoon turmeric
1/8 teaspoon garlic granules
1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt (if needed to taste)

Choose a covered metal skillet with 2-inch high sides that’s light enough to hold and shake for several minutes. Warm the ½ tablespoon ghee over medium-high heat. Drizzle with the melted ghee and spices and toss well to coat. Makes 2 servings.

It’s been an intense 24 hours. Yesterday we found out that my niece’s dad (my sister’s ex husband who our family is still close to) was getting a heart transplant at midnight last night. After tossing and turning all night I woke up to the good news that the surgery was a success! Feeling thankful for modern medicine and also this GF chocolate Dutch baby that I stress-baked yesterday while procrastinating actual work. 😅 #procrastibaking I’ll share the recipe when I get it down! Wishing I could start every day making waffles with Sarah @snixykitchen! We teamed up with @organicvalley (partner) to make our sweet and savory waffle dreams come true. I'm sharing the recipe for these gluten-free corn flour waffles slathered in whipped honey ghee and topped with juicy strawberries and fresh mint on TBG, while Sarah serves hers up with sumac-sautéed veggies and basil yogurt sauce. Ghee is the magic ingredient that keeps the waffles extra golden and crisp on the outside, and tender and full of flavor on the inside. Ghee has become one of my favorite cooking fats for its rich, nutty flavor and high smoke point, and it works brilliantly when brushed on a waffle iron. Organic Valley dairy comes from a network of small to medium-sized farms, some of which are in California, and all of which let their cows spend the majority of their time grazing on pasture. This makes for sweeter dairy that’s higher in nutrients (including precious omega-3 fatty acids) and free of scary pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs. We use delicious Organic Valley grassmilk and omega-3 eggs in our waffle batter, and I top these sweet waffles with a plume of whipped heavy cream to boot. ✨
