#NationalBreadDay has me thinking of the dreamy weekend I spent with @labreabakery (ad), @evakosmasflores, @vegetarianventures, @goeatyourbeets, @themodernproper, @sasha.swerdloff, @cottagefarm, and lots of freshly baked sourdough bread in Washington last month. This smokey aubergine spread topped with sumac and za’atar was sublime on thick slabs of cranberry walnut bread. I can’t wait to make @cottagefarm’s recipe again and again. 🍆🍞 ✨#labreabakery

Today on the TBG I’m sharing the recipe for this cozy golden vegetable chickpea minestrone with lemon parsley oil which I created for a blogger retreat sponsored by @labreabakery (ad). We sopped up bowls of this warm soup with hunks of freshly baked seeded grain loaf. Like all La Brea Bakery breads, these loaves are made with their original sourdough starter, which, like me, was born in LA in the ‘80’s. That place where savory broth and rich olive oil soak into wheaty crumb kissed with seeds and whole grains is gustatory heaven. Treating myself to a wellness day after a long week: hot tea, nourishing food, and a yummy massage. 🎉 I recently finished reading @phoebelapine’s book The Wellness Project, in which Phoebe details the year she spent figuring out how to strike a balance of healthy hedonism. Her writing is so fun and engaging, and I learned a ton about nutrition, water safety, good bacteria, hormones, meditation, and how to clear out the junk in my head every morning via a quick brain dump on paper. I’m so grateful for all of Phoebe’s research and knowledge and especially her delicious recipes. If you haven’t read it already, I highly recommend devouring a copy! 📘 Oh and those cookies are GF, vegan, and coming to the January issue of @gffmag. 🍪 #glutenfreebaking #thewellnessprojectbook
