"No culture on earth is as heavily narcotized as the industrial West in terms of being inured to the consequences of maladaptive behavior. We pursue a business-as-usual attitude in a surreal atmosphere of mounting crises and irreconcilable contradictions."

"The psychedelic experience is as central to understanding your humanness as having sex, or having a child, or having responsibilities, or having hopes and dreams, and yet it is illegal. We are somehow told, we are infantilized. We are told, you know, that you can wander around within the sanctioned playpen of ordinary consciousness, and we have some intoxicants over here if you wanna mess your self up, we’ve got some scotch here and some tobacco and red meat and some sugar and a little TV, and so forth and so on. But, these boundary dissolving hallucinogens that give you a sense of unity with your fellow man and nature are somehow forbidden. This is an outrage! It’s a sign of cultural immaturity and the fact that we tolerate it is a sign that we are living in a society as oppressed as any society in the past.”

”It's clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning. We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war; But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds. We must decondition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behavior. And, it's not easy.”

"Worry is betting against yourself. Worry is praying to the devil. It's a total waste of time. You know Wei Po Yang, a great Chinese Daoist, who wrote many commentaries on the i-ching, was asked at the end of his life what were his conclusions of a life of studying the i-ching, and all he said is ’Worry is preposterous’, that was it."

Terence describes Novelty Theory to director John Hazard, with an elaboration of its core principles involving hyper-complexification and the compression of "Time".

He holds forth on the correspondences between the structure of the DNA molecule and the Chinese I-Ching, then shows how his notion of an Archaic Revival leads from the theories of mind and the art movements of the early 20th century to the Shaman as the quintessential figure of the 21st century, with psychedelic substances being the bridge between these worldviews.

"I think the real way to do cannabis is like once a week, by yourself, in silent darkness, with the strongest stuff you can get. And then immense amounts of it."

Happy #BicycleDay, the 75th anniversary of LSD!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After Dr. #AlbertHofmann's first intentional LSD experience on April 19, 1943, LSD became known for its ability to catalyze spiritual or mystical experiences, and to facilitate feelings of interconnection. From the 1950s through the early 1970s, psychiatrists, therapists, and researchers administered LSD to thousands of people as a treatment for alcoholism, as well as for anxiety and depression in people with advanced-stage cancer. In 2014, @mapsnews published results from the first double-blind, placebo-controlled study of the therapeutic use of LSD in human beings since the early 1970s.
