Sugar has 0 effect on fat loss or fat gain.
As long as your fiber is hit and don't go over your carbs then you can have sugar.
So any diet that say 'absolutely no sugar' I would stay clear of, because they are quite clearly full of shit.

It is very important to hit your nutrition everyday for obviously health reason's but as long as you do, there is no reason to cut sugar out of your diet.
