Consistently one of my favorite (and least favorite) things to remember: "do less”. Literally the opposite of what our culture asks of us, and, because of that, often a good practice.

What might we notice if we did a little less with a little more focus? Like walking from the car to the grocery store without checking your phone? I’m THE WORST at that, and to be conscious and active in doing less is SO HARD. Constant struggle, constant challenge. But it's the remembering and trying that matters. #mindfulness

This week I’m still feeling really grateful: grateful for having the opportunity to practice & teach yoga, grateful that I have this adorable, aggressive and hard-to-please cat, and grateful that I get to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts Yoga to a full studio with @lgundrum this weekend. ✨ Like, if you could combine excitement, gratitude, and awe into a feeling: that’s it. 😍

This is a picture of me and @forrest.brandt's parents' dog LuLu from 3 years ago on Thanksgiving. She's so cute, I know! 😍 So here's a story of what happened to me and Lulu today...
.
Forrest is housesitting while his parents are in ENGLAND for the holiday, and this morning he got locked out of the house by accident while he was walking Lulu. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
.
He really had to go to work and Lulu was left outside on the porch, so I called @b_lilien and @kaitlynlavalette who amazingly helped cover my Move & Meditate class this morning, so I could drive over and at least keep Lulu warm in my car. After a long walk and searching everywhere possible for a spare key, I gave up and brought Lulu back to my apartment while Forrest worked on figuring out a locksmith. Instead, he somehow broke in and now we can bring Lulu back home so that Pretzel can stop trying to act intimidating. (πŸ˜‚ you're too small bby! No one believes you!)
.
So today I realized I'm grateful it wasn't freezing, or raining, when Lulu and I were stuck outside. I'm grateful Lulu was outside with Forrest when he got locked out. I'm SO grateful that Britt & Kaitlyn took my calls/texts at 5:45am today and were able to cover class. πŸ™πŸ» I'm grateful I have a car and phone and other things that make problems like this a lot less stressful. I'm thankful @tytydannyb could go to work early so Forrest could leave and break into his parents' house. πŸ˜‚I'm grateful to have an apt where separating Pretzel and Lulu was super easy. Just like, so many things.
