Black Panther was easily one of the most creative, culture enriched, relevant movies I've seen recently. Aside from being beautifully made, the storyline was alluringly captivating and carried such a strong message. As someone who wants to not only learn but show up for the people and the things that matter so much to the worlds forward motion, I see a film like this and genuinely stand amazed at what we are capable of. There are two sides to every possibility and opportunity- growth or destruction. I see a film like this that not only celebrates the culture of a severely oppressed people, but acknowledges the very presence of that oppression still with stances of positive and peaceful approaches, and I yield to every part of me that is fed up and tired of being afraid and hiding from the noise that has silenced so many. If a movie could change everything, I believe it would have already happened, but I also believe that it's important to not let the momentum of a movie like this go to waste. I don't have a platform of any kind, but I will show up HERE and say that I support what I see; I support the fight for liberation from the oppression of my black brothers and sisters and of ALL the oppressed.
I support the unbelievable, powerful display of desired unity.
I support the powerful display of complex, female warriors; the loyalty, the bravery, the brilliance and the authenticity of strong women.
I support the message that representation is powerful and significant. Look at the upcoming generations--Teach them to be kind and to respect others; to see with eyes that know justice, truth, goodness, love; eyes like OUR KING; Jesus.
SEE THIS MOVIE. Open up your eyes and your ears. SHOW UP. #blackpanther #wakandaforever #showup #representation #watershed #KingJesus
