About two years a go, in October, I was lucky enough to sign my first UCI
contract with Lares-Waowdeals. That same month I also got a big promotion
at work. Two of my biggest goals were accomplished at such a short time.
I was happy and motivated but had to realize those two accomplishments were
very hard to combine. I tried and fought hard but I failed. I guess you can never really know before you try :-). Again, in October this year I will start a new adventure with a new career that will be easier to combine with racing. Unfortunately I wasn't able to
extend my contract with Lares-Waowdeals but I'm thankful for the chances that I was given.
I went on my first racing adventure outside of Europe (Tour de San Luis,
Argentina), I raced my first World Tour race in Madrid (the prestigious live broadcasted race La Vuelta), I was able to race with some girls I had admired for years and have huge respect for. The team achieved some great results and wins and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Teamwork makes the dream work!
And even though I had much experience already it was only till two years a go that I did my first real training camp (and suffered like hell trying to follow
the pro's on my team). I will always remember the girls pushing me, motivating me and even feeding me, up on those hills in Calp when I couldn't keep up the high pace.
I learned a lot and it took me to places I wouldn't have been able to visit otherwise.
I want to thank DS @marc.bracke.7 , the staff, sponsors and especially my teammates for the past two amazing years!
My adventure at Cyclelive Magazine starts on Monday,
stay tuned to know which jersey I will wear for 2018!
