What a privilege to be part of this show. The kids are so talented and inspiring 😍 repost via @instarepost20 from @miafreedman

This is the best thing. @sparkyouthdance is a dance company in Melbourne run by 19yo Alex Dellaportas who is an aspiring choreographer. She has pulled together a team of young creative people from her local area to come up with this year's production Shatter, A Suffragette Story.
Yes! Alex has made a show about the first feminists, the Suffragettes - in dance!
The cast is aged 7-20 and they've rehearsed long and hard to come up with this emotional, exciting story.
Alex has organised funding and grants, appointed assistants for lighting, photography, organised meetings with mentors from the Australian Ballet, obtained music licences and come up with an original story, choreography and production - all while studying dance at Deakin University, teaching dance three nights a week and holding down a part time job in a bookstore.
She doesn't get paid for her work with the dance company - she runs Spark as a non-profit.
What an incredible story. You can follow @sparkyouthdance and buy tickets to the show via the link in their bio. #wonderwoman #mamamia4womenΒ #instarepost20
