Time to rest and heal up.. next workout on the list is Back. Legs yesterday were solid, my Chest workout today was on point. My sets were 50/50 pressing and fly work. Started the session with a warmup without weights for about fifteen minutes and moved right into benching. From there I did a mess of flies from different angles and then went back into pressing.. back and forth, back and forth. Hit Shoulders today with my bro Napoleon! We hit all the angles; went hard on Laterals, Overhead Presses, the works. Pumped and tired! Great workout but now I am ready for food, sleep and rest.. no training for me tomorrow. I'll be healing up and growing 😎 I normally take a day off after legs or back but today it was worth it to hit the gym.. we crushed it and a solid workout is never a bad choice! Now I will be back on Sunday to hit back like a maniac. Already looking forward to it 😁 #ZM #ZieglerMonster

@zieglermonster:I am forcing myself off from the weights today.. maybe I'll train claves; but that's it! I need to heal and grow! I'll still knock out my cardio though. Back Day in the books! Building up the V-Taper: Shoulders in the high 60's and waist in the low 30's.. this offseason is coming together little by little and I still have a few months left. I've been focusing in on a few shows this year, but nothing is certain yet. I really am just looking at one day at a time, one meal at a time.. doing the best that I can with each opportunity that I have. Another meal is another brick, another workout is another chance to improve, everyday starts a brand new journey to bring everything together. The little steps it takes to build up to success.. I've been having a new outlook on how I do things and it's been working for me. I'll keep this rolling and bringing it all together. Lean 265lbs, focusing on quality muscle. #ZM #ZieglerMonster

Change of mindset totally this week - focus. Training by yourself can be good or it can be not so good as you struggle to move things on your last few reps or there is no one to really push you verbally or physically. Most of my training is by myself so I think I've done well to get as far as I have - however, there is always room to improve and that is what this week has been about. I've worked on muscle groups that don't hurt my knackered back and push like hell - just had a killer tricep session and pushed like I've not done before. I can finally rattle out dips properly and that's a big achievement for me. I can't move my arms - my arm pump is insane today 💪🏼💪🏼😁😁that plus knocking 3 ish minutes of my 2.5k time has given me a massive high to finish the week. 2nd session on the treadmill - tying something to see how I can sustain a faster pace over 2.5k to translate to a 5k pace. Knocked about 4 minutes off my 5k pace with this run. Doing a harder 2.5k run means energy left in the tank for a superset bicep session - which by the way burns like hell 🔥🔥 because the muscle is under constant tension for all reps all sets with minimal rest in between 😁 same again Friday on triceps. Feel more settled and comfortable with things at the moment, less fraught to complete sets - even if people do pinch your bench whilst you're mid set and don't ask!! A pet peeve of mine! Later workout tonight.. I hit the gym around 8:00 PM or so and the atmosphere in the gym was great. Packed facility, guys going strong and the weights felt light for me. I hit Biceps hard for about an hour.. alternating dumbbell curls, alternating hammer curls, cable curl, machine curls.. Biceps!! I was pumped and feeling good walking out. I came in for some posing practice .. I stayed to hear the gossip about John 🙈 lol Workout was good! It started slow, revved up fast and I cruised through some exercises.. then the wall. I hit it hard and it was time to go home and relax #ZM #ZieglerMonster @smashironfitness

Ran into a wall at the @superleague.live competition.. looked up and it was Rich. Spent some time chatting with @1dayumay before everything got rolling and the athletes started crushing weights.. these people are strong! Spent the morning relaxing and cutting up the Canyons with the boys.. quick couple hours and then t was back to the normal grind. It was a beautiful morning and a nice change to take in some scenes and good conversation to decompress. Atmosphere means a lot in the fitness world. It's hard to train insane, eat all your food, stay in at night and focus on recovery, so many details to consider and manipulate.. but when you're surrounded by people all doing the same thing. It's not as difficult anymore. You want to train harder, eat more, be prepared to do what it takes.. it's competitive in a very supportive way. It's awesome. Just when you think you're heading in the right direction, mid squat, a disc appears to have made a break for freedom. Not content with just going "pop" it's taken my sciatic nerve out for a ride too which has sent pain right down my left leg! So meet TheraFlex - my always ready ice pack. Back in the gym and it feels awesome! I took a full week off.. seven days of no weights, a ton of calories and 3000 miles of driving a motorcycle through rain, wind, snow and 115 degrees.. awesome adventure! It felt like seeing an old friend to be back in the gym, to finally have steel in my hands again. It doesn't sound like a long time.. to take a week off. I love it though, so I miss it, a lot. I have some cool stuff coming up tomorrow and Saturday and I'll keep you all in the loop. #ZM #ZieglerMonster
