Time to rest and heal up.. next workout on the list is Back. Legs yesterday were solid, my Chest workout today was on point. My sets were 50/50 pressing and fly work. Started the session with a warmup without weights for about fifteen minutes and moved right into benching. From there I did a mess of flies from different angles and then went back into pressing.. back and forth, back and forth. Today was Leg day.. Seven years ago today; it was also Leg Day. Same exercises, same amount of sets.. different weights and a much different mind set. Still doing the thing. Still love it. Hit Shoulders today with my bro Napoleon! We hit all the angles; went hard on Laterals, Overhead Presses, the works. Pumped and tired! Great workout but now I am ready for food, sleep and rest.. no training for me tomorrow. I'll be healing up and growing 😎 I normally take a day off after legs or back but today it was worth it to hit the gym.. we crushed it and a solid workout is never a bad choice! Now I will be back on Sunday to hit back like a maniac. Already looking forward to it 😁 #ZM #ZieglerMonster

Back Day in the books! Building up the V-Taper: Shoulders in the high 60's and waist in the low 30's.. this offseason is coming together little by little and I still have a few months left. I've been focusing in on a few shows this year, but nothing is certain yet. I really am just looking at one day at a time, one meal at a time.. doing the best that I can with each opportunity that I have. Another meal is another brick, another workout is another chance to improve, everyday starts a brand new journey to bring everything together. The little steps it takes to build up to success.. I've been having a new outlook on how I do things and it's been working for me. I'll keep this rolling and bringing it all together. Lean 265lbs, focusing on quality muscle. #ZM #ZieglerMonster

What’s harder, starting from scratch or starting a new programme? After today, either would be applicable. The Spartan Race prep work this year has taken it out of me and and forced me down a direction I wasn’t originally planning to go down this year. So getting back into a building size programme is a shock to the system. Muscles learning to lift again, balance having to be found and learning to push through the burn and listening to your inner self to force the changes through - and finding your lungs after a hard set too doesn’t help! Would I have done anything different this year? Absolutely not. A weird form of motivation.. if I crush this set to the all out max I’ll have a cheat meal.. I don’t have the dessert.. Still gets me going strong though 😜🍳#ZM #ZieglerMonster

I used to train Legs all in one day.. I would come in and hit Quads, moved into Hammies and finished with Calves. My first body part would get hit hard and with tons of energy.. then less and less energy would be available for the remaining muscles. To combat this I would switch the order. This week, start with Hammies, then Quads, then Calves! Keep rotating to stay rounded... that was fine and all but I haven’t been doing that lately. The last few months or so I have been training legs about twice a week. Every three days really.. Quads get attacked all alone.. and so do Hammies. The intensity is through the roof from start to finish. Nothing is an after thought.. or poorly executed because of fatigue #ZM #ZieglerMonster

Hey.. been doing the cardio πŸ˜‰ and I've seriously cut back on my gusher intake. About seven weeks or so until show day.. something like that. Enjoying the training and cardio isn't so bad. Gives me time to post on Instagram and reflect on life 😜 all I'm thinking is that I need to go conquer Maryjane Trail at Mount Charleston.. failed hard once already; and that I want a chocolate bar #ZM #ZieglerMonster

Dieting.. I'm not the best at it. I do it of course; but, who wouldn't rather just relax and be lean and huge. Unfortunately I would just be huge if that was the approach I took, and not huge in a good way. I love to train, that is the root of everything I do... Dieting freaks me out a little because I get paranoid about losing my muscle... it was hard to build! The clean eating and the cardio chip away the fat. When the fat is gone you can really appreciate the muscle you've created. So .. I hate to diet but I also love it. Complicated relationship 😎#ZM #ZieglerMonster

Well we’ve done it!!! Spartan Beast completed!!! Absolutely chuffed to bits!!! 4 hours 11mins. This is how long it took us to do the Super when we had our first race in May!! Mentally prepared this time for the Beast as well as much as I could physically too with a slipped disc in my lower back that’s not healing as quick as it should.
