Zero Waste Workplace / I have gently started to nudge my workplace to think more sustainably. I try to be cognizant that not everyone is interested in sustainable initiatives, and not to impose my way of being onto another person or people. Thankfully, my co-workers are open minded and even curious.
We host a community coffee morning each Thursday and these are the package free goodies I picked up. Typically we just store-bought cookies so these are a step up 😉. We are also hosting an event for over 100 people that in the past used single-use Everything. This year we are going to use reusable: plates, wine glasses, cutlery and napkins. We are only buying bottled and canned beverages and we are setting up compost stations.
Lastly, we are a part of the NATO charity bazaar where each country has a booth featuring products for sale from their country. Of course we are offering 🍁 Maple products but in addition we are offering sustainable products from my store!
I really love that the women I work with are so open and willing to accommodate my need to make less waste. And, I am so proud to be a part of a team that is willing to go the extra mile to walk the talk and that will hopefully be change makers for how to host future large scale events! Go Team 💚🌍🌱
