Britta Teckentrup (@britta_teckentrup) is an author and illustrator that is involved in a bunch of books we really love.
Moon is a lovely journey through the forest with the moon. It's a peek-a-boo moon book. We read it a few times this morning.
The other one I really like is Your Hand in my Hand (with Mark Sperring) which is a nice trip through the forest with a mouse parent and child holding hands along the way. I read this book a few months before I got pregnant, and I think it really started me on the path of loving and appreciating children's books more than I ever had before. I looked forward to reading it to my offspring someday.
And finally the one that I think is especially important, the Memory Tree, which deals with the topic of death in a beautiful and gentle way. A fox "goes to sleep forever" under a tree, and is wrapped in a blanket of snow, his forest friends are sad, but start reminiscing about all of their happy fox memories and the tree grows and grows.
