No better a person to name a rink after. Ken Bracko leaves a legacy throughout this city and province - and played the game the way it was meant to be played. As a mentor, coach, and citizen, he put the kids first and bettered the community.
He's a man who left the world a better place. He coached kids in hockey, soccer and softball - dedicating innumerable hours to sport and decades to public service. His sons continue his work: being assistant coaches, presidents of the AJHL's Canucks, and leaders in our city.
As a former Canucks player he touched my life. When I played for the Canucks in the AJHL championships in 1989-90, he was there. For thousands of players on and off the ice, he was there driving, coaching, fundraising, and managing them. And, with this rink being named after him, he'll be there welcoming new players for many years to come.
Thank you, Ken. #yyc #yycsports
