Today was prep day at the Wisewood house, my favourite day due to the copious amounts of snacking 😍 Simplicity is an awesome way to ensure healthy eating around here, so we all get together and spend a day cooking, dehydrating, freezing, and so on. On a day near pay day we shop (and/or harvest) for all of our favourite make ahead meals, create our food masterpieces, then freeze them for easy/clean lunches and dinners. That way we dirty the kitchen once, rather than every single day, several times a day. Our must-haves are assorted muffins, vegetarian chili (soaked beans and all!), slow cooker pulled pork, macaroni casserole, vegetable end/bone broth into a chicken noodle soup (or other variety), bacon bits, smoothie packs, and stuffed buns 😋 We love to dehydrate in-season fruits for use throughout the year, like apples, plums, strawberries, tomatoes, and so on. When I find a wicked deal on mushrooms, we buy a whole bunch and dehydrate them for use in chili, sauce, and soup. Most of my herbs are home grown and we most often harvest wild greens from our lawn 👍🌱 What is your all time favourite make ahead meal? Id love to try out some new ideas!
