"We become leaders the day we decide to help others grow." 💫
With 100% certainty I know I was led down the path to become a yoga teacher for a reason.
It was February 2012, I was 27 years old and 2 years into my yoga practice, I felt a calling to teach. I didn't know what that meant, where to start, or if I was even ready. I decided to take a leap of faith and sign up for a yoga teacher training with @yandarayoga in Baja Mexico.
It was there at Yandara that my eyes were truly opened to the practice. I learned things I had never even heard of prior to the training - we studied pranayama, bhakti, ayurveda, chakras, the yoga sutras, yamas and niyamas, anatomy, alignment, asana, assists, QiGong, tai chi, kirtan, mantras, satya, dharana, dhyana, pratyahara etc.
I felt that I was awakening to a "new" yoga, beyond the handstand, arm balance and inversion focused classes that I loved so much. The teachers at Yandara are unlike anyone I've ever met. Humble, thorough, kind and have a history and in depth knowledge that is second to none.
It wasn't long after, that I was craving more. I had the opportunity to continue my education and instruct for yandara, along side my teachers for a few trainings in Bali Indonesia and Baja Mexico. Guiding students to become teachers themselves and sharing the gifts that I had received at my own training was life changing.
It was after those trainings that I moved to LA to teach and decided to start an Instagram account based on yoga. What followed is another story ;) We are all lead down our own unique paths, each of us needing something slightly different.
If you have a little voice inside urging you to pursue yoga further, I encourage you to listen. For more information on @Yandarayoga visit www.yandara.com
