Help, my skin is oily!
I'm sure you've learnt a lot on these series of skin types I have shared.
A client one day told me during a consultation session that she doesn't need a cream because she had an oily skin, that she only uses creams during the dry season when her skin isn't as oily as it usually is. An oily skin type is one with overactive sebaceous glands which produces more oil than necessary.
I smiled as I explained to her why everyone needs a body cream with the most important reasons being to moisturize and serve as constant hydration for the skin.
An oily skin could be a factor that needs to be corrected. Even though it comes naturally with some people, with others, it can be caused by hereditary factors, diet, heat, hormonal imbalance, pregnancy, unsuitable cosmetics and stress, leading to acne flare ups and enlarged pores on the face.
You can manage this by cleaning the skin regularly with gentle soap-free cleansers to reduce the appearance of excessive oil. Also ensure you use less oil based products for this skin type.
