#randomthought When I was a child, I remember asking my mom "Mom, if everybody has 2 eyes, a nose, a mouth, a chin, 2 ears...then how come everyone looks different from one another?" I remember trying to comprehend in my young mind how it could be possible. My mom answered, "Well it's because some people have different shaped noses, or different colors of eyes, different colors of hair, of skin, and more. There are so many different combinations that make everyone unique that it's hard to make the same person twice. Even twins are slightly different." It's the same with music. Sometimes I wonder how people are still creating new songs, new art, new melodies, etc. Haven't they all already been written? And then I remember that there are literally millions of tiny details that make up the uniqueness of music - just one note difference, a combo of various instruments, tempo, dynamics, timbre, chord structure, color, style, and so much more. Even if you were to give the same melody to a group of 10 composers with the assignment to arrange it, you would get 10 very unique songs back.
Sometimes it's nice to know that it's in the tiny details that make the biggest difference. Think about that the next time you think what you do from day to day is insignificant. Think about that the next time you feel pressure to be a certain way, to look a certain way. It's in the fine details that make the most beautiful works of art. ❤
