See @wypw studio holder @sculptorjim 's work @kunsthuisgallery until 8th July - Jim Bond Sculptor -
Works include intricate copper ‘heads’, other kinetic works and human scale figures.
Bond says “Movement takes an object and turns it into an engaging performance. I love the element of uncertainty in the mind of the viewer. There is a different dynamic between the viewer and the work." Bond works continually in a series of A6 sketchbooks and draws inspiration from innumerable places, from films, exhibitions, museums, TV, graffiti, machines, sculpture, painting, drawing, found scraps of paper, worn paint, curious signs, and accidental scratches. These are all recorded and stored in his sketchbook and phone and then filtered. His work is a continued study of the human form from the way it is represented to the way it is perceived which tends to result in work on a human scale. This brings about the harmonious combination of movement and interaction with figurative forms.
