This bowl though...🤤 I blended some frozen mango, fresh mint, cashew yogurt, and the juice of one lime together with a little water until thick and creamy, then topped it with more mint, cacao nibs, coconut, and buckwheat! I’m so excited because in just a few short hours, I’ll be flying back home to see my family! It’s definitely tough living so far away from my parents, so I’m extremely grateful that I have a few days off work to spend back home with them. Since I’ll have a late flight and won’t really have time for dinner, I packed myself lots of snacks to hold me over, including this snack here to eat on the way to the airport. .

Recently I've been focused on cutting down a bit on my sugar intake.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving up my fruit! (or any other natural carbs for that matter)
I'm simply reducing the amount of *added* sugars/natural sweeteners in my diet.
Examples are honey, maple syrup, agave, stevia, monk fruit, brown rice syrup, molasses, etc.
I LOVE to put granola on top of my yogurt bowls - I think it's a texture thing. I like to have a little crunch, ya feel me?
Unfortunately most brands use a lot of honey or syrup to hold their granola together (& to make it taste good!)
So INSTEAD, I've been topping my yogurt bowls with nuts & seeds - y'all, it's been a game changer!
What I have here:
plain almond milk yogurt with about 1/3 scoop pb vegan protein powder mixed in, thawed organic frozen mixed berries (because I was out of fresh fruit - I know it sounds weird, but it tastes so good!) topped with a mixture of pumpkin seeds (a great source of plant protein!), cashews, pistachios!, & some unsweetened coconut flakes!

Alright you guys... Basically worked my legs OFF this morning... 😅 With my new sessions, I am incorporating one heavy leg day focused on compound lifts and one day more focused on (what I like to call) “jumpy” movements and calisthenics! Today was my jumpy day and let me tell you... your girls’ legs are done. 😅 My session is up on my story if you want to give it a shot! 🍑🔥 I am for sure coming down with a cough/cold, but other than that, I’m feeling super happy and SO pumped from my workout! I was hungry when I woke up this morning, so I was HANGRY on my way home! Once I did get home, I drank my protein shake and am now ready to have my breakfast! I am fueling up with: plain 2% Greek yogurt (Fage) topped with puffed wheat, frozen raspberries, chia pudding (chia seeds + water), coconut chips, and cinnamon! 👅💦✨ As you can probably tell, no school for me today because I’m helping set up for my sister’s birthday party and have loads of stuff I need to get done for school. NOT looking forward to that part. 🙅🏻 Overall, I am feeling real damn proud of myself and am really looking forward to the rest of my journey. It is so important that I keep on pushing no matter what! ❌ My something not so nutritious meal is tonight so I’m making Oreo cake and I CANNOT. WAIT. Yogurt Bowl, fresh fruit and Homemade Granola for breakfast today.
If you watched my stories last week, you know I made a homemade granola and I must tell you its nothing short of incredible. Who needs a store bought granola than you can make it at home, refined sugar free and use the ingredients you love.

@dreamingcow vanilla agave yogurt
Homemade granola (recipe below)
Pomegranate (I freaking love poms, who is with me?)
Ripe persimmons shaped as stars - thanks Caitlin @starinfinitefood for the inspo

Homemade granola:
4 cups @bobsredmill rolled oast
3/4 cup melted organic Simply Nature Coconut Oil
1/2 cup Simply Nature Honey
1 cup pecans
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Toss the oats, coconut, and almonds together in a large bowl. Whisk together the oil and honey in a small bowl. Pour the liquids over the oat mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until all the oats and nuts are coated. Pour onto a 13 by 18 by 1-inch sheet pan. Bake, stirring occasionally with a spatula, until the mixture turns a nice, even, golden brown, about 45 minutes. Once the granola is cool, add dried fruit and seeds of your choice. I added quite a few handfuls of dried cherries, dried cranberries, shredded coconut and roasted pepitas. Store in airtight container. Its been a week since I made the granola and it still tastes fantastic. Got all of my ingredients in @aldiusa or @sprouts

Overnight BOATS (bran bud oats) for my crazy early flight back home this morning ✈️ Who else loves a warm n satisfyin' low carb breakfast?!? Took my toddler for walk and saw christmas lights and decoration in neighbours house! You can't ignore those pretty lights and all the shimmery glittery little things, can you 😁? Well, couldn't help but try my hands with those cute string lights and fell all the 'Tis the season Ho Ho Ho!' fervor 😀! But more than that meets the eye, the year end celebrations always makes me all feeling thankful, gratitude for everything. Ignoring all kind of negativities out there, having a chance to end the year on a happy note.

In the bowl is my girl's favourite porridge of homemade yogurt, topped with amaranth, pomegranate, jaggery and tsampa 😌. Makes for a complete All-day power meal. Super filling and super nutritious. And talking of gratitude, personally, this is a 'bowl of gratitude, prosperity, growth and nourishment' for me- Everytime reinstating my faith in ancient ingredients and food- in what our ancestors ate! A usual snack that I like to have ☺️ Da eatz: greek yogurt or full fat yogurt + fresh fruits (strawberries 🍓and cherries🍒) I’ve yet to be able to find non-dairy yogurts in my country so i’m sticking with normal milk yogurt first...
