“When disturbed by negative thoughts, opposite [positive]
ones should be thought of. This is pratipaksha bhavana.”
––Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra 2.33 ✨✨ Pratipaksha bhavana is such a simple yet powerful tool. By learning to recognize negative thought patterns and stop them in their tracks, you can literally reprogram your mind to view the world in a more positive light. ✨
Every time you think something negative about yourself, someone else, or a situation, try thinking the exact opposite (for example- whenever you catch yourself thinking things like "I'm not good enough" or "I don't have enough," reverse those thoughts and tell yourself "I am enough.") ❤ If this is not possible, decide to think about something else instead- something or someone that makes you happy, that you're grateful for, that you love.
If you can change the way your mind works, you can change your whole life. 💖 |
