Just imagine yourself sitting by the ocean smelling that salty air and taking in the sounds, and powerful vibrations of the waves crashing into the beach, it is both connected to sky and ocean. Today I took a break from the gym and instead took part in my second meditation session. I find that we can get so wrapped up in our physical well-being, that sometimes we can forget to pay attention to our mental wellbeing. With this, I’ve been attempting to make an effort to donate at least one evening per week to my mental health 🙏🏼. . Practicing mindful meditation can be so challenging. For people who start (like myself) and suffer from depression and/or anxiety disorder, we can sometimes feel a rush of anxiety or fear when practicing mindfulness. I’ve realized today, that this is because us anxious people often find ourselves living in the past or in the future. When we come to a state of being in the present and are one with our current state, this can cause a weird unknown feeling associated with anxiety - it’s darn right scary. The best remedy is to continue practicing mindfulness and bring awareness and acceptance to your anxiety; soon it will dissipate. I’m looking forward to my own spiritual journey with my mental health.
