We are each gifted in a unique and important way. Each day you are on this Earth is a gift in itself. Always be grateful of that. It is our privilege and adventure to discover our own special light and help light the way for others. If you want to be successful, don’t wait for opportunities. Create them. Cultivate your passions into will and keep moving forward, no matter the pace. Set goals and be stubborn as hell about them. Success in life comes by simply NOT GIVING UP. That doesn’t mean that there will not be sacrifice, obstacles, or failure along the way, it means learning to use these things as motivation and not letting it weaken your enthusiasm about your goals.
Day 9 of #YogisDigDeep is #dancerpose or #natarajasana . Today’s journal entry is about successes and advice. My most important success has been in managing my health! When I was 23 I started having all sorts of medical issues and the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. I was misdiagnosed with leukemia, diabetes, aides and a couple other autoimmune diseases I’m still unable to pronounce. I battled this on and off until I was 27 years old, when I was finally diagnosed correctly with chronic pancreatitis. After having a near death experience and a two week long hospital stay on a morphine drip and ice chips, I realized I needed to change my life drastically. Learning to eat healthy and stay balanced in my diet, working out consistently, not drinking as much, and most importantly, CHANNELING my emotions into creative outlets to manage stress has literally saved my life. Now, I have multiple hand drawn designs on clothing with more to come, a henna business during the warm months, a recording studio in my home, I’m in the best shape of my life and getting better, and I’m genuinely happy! It hasn’t always been easy, that starving artist lifestyle is highly romanticized and there have been some truly bleak moments, but it’s still a part of my journey and why I’m so determined and push passion the way that I do. .
