One of my favorite things to do at 8 months pregnant is walk around this really noisy city and feel my baby’s reactions to the different sounds.
A man playing an instrument on the street, loud, shrieking trains, sirens, a soothing sound bath, my dog barking when someone rings the buzzer. My husband’s voice.
Baby is at a stage/position where I can really feel the movements (they alarm me at times and distort the shape of my belly) and it’s like a constant physical reminder to stay present and connect back to my body and breath.
I have never felt anything so physical and so powerful.
I am not able to practice yoga asana (posture) as I normally would due to hormones having shifted my pelvis a little, causing some instability. I’ve moved to simpler symmetrical movements, breathing and meditation. But the most powerful time of all in my practice is these constant reminders of staying present, mindful and in tune with my body with the baby’s presence.
It’s like the baby is teaching me this really valuable, constant yoga lesson and I’m excited to learn more 👶😊 In my forever favorite and comfortable @aloyoga
