It’s up to you to stand up for what you’re worth. If you don’t see it, feel it and honor it, then the world outside of yourself won’t either.
We play games with ourselves. We say we love ourselves while whispering words of hate over our bodies. We claim self-confidence while cowering in fear when faced with difficulty. We proclaim judgement on others when in fact our harshed judgement is towards ourselves. We wield superficial idealism like smoke and mirrors to craft an illusion of happiness when inside we suffer and struggle. All this dishonesty stems from radical self-denial. There’s a way out. A way towards true peace and eternal love.
It starts with yourself, with a recognition of the love that you are. Your worth is not tied to external circumstance. You don’t earn more worth by earning more money, more success, more power or more of anything in the material world. You don’t prove your worth by fitting into the “right” size or shape or by saying all the “right” things. Your worth is tied to the intrinsic value of your inner being. That and nothing more. Waking up from the dream of self-denial is liberation.
The scary thing about that is that if you truly accept and love yourself beyond all external circumstance, then you have to accept the correlated truth that all beings retain that same equal worthiness, inalienable, sovereign, just and whole. Equality can be unnerving, threatening and even revolutionary. You may resist, especially if you are hedged in a dominant position of power or benefitting from inequality. But once you validate your own worthiness there is simply no other choice but to validate that same worthiness in all beings.
