In so many moments during the last dew days I've stopped and felt gratitude, love, peace, enthusiam and inspiration. A week ago I felt the opposite. Almost for one whole month. What has changed so radically: my level of stress.

I came back in the middle of nature, I got many works with deadlines done and I took a lot of time to practice yoga and meditation, sleeping well and the nutrition for my body. I took time to also be alone and I know I can (if I want to) stay in one place for a while. Mind-body-spirit. They all come together.

I see healthy in a holistic way and for me stress is the most challenging thing to keep positive. When I'm really stressed it's harder to take care of my other healthy habits. Even if at that time I would need them the most. When I'm not stressed and busy I eat well, do a lot of yoga and meditate, take time to be in the middle of nature and read books, which makes me happy. But the problem is when a stressful period lasts too long, balance disappears and burning out becomes a threat.

I think it's funny how people many times think that those who are into yoga are so calm. I'm here doing yoga because my head has so much going on all the time. I love yoga, because it makes me happy, it always gives me balance, it makes me more gentle towards myself in life. I'm still learning to practice yoga and meditate also when my mind is the very busy and the most confused, when at first it's totally impossible to focus on my breath. But I'm getting there, I will learn. ❤

One of the things I want all of you to remember is that social media only shows what we want it to show. I can tilt my hips and gain abs while losing several inches. I can tug on my pants to make them look big. I can add filters and tweak the contrast to smooth out my skin and add definition where I want it. Hell, I can even photoshop on make up with one swipe these days. Do not gauge your self worth by what you see online. Do not idolize the face, body, or even lifestyle of someone you really don't know. We can present whatever we want to the outside world. I know personally, I could have saved myself a lot of self loathing if I realized how much media can manipulated when I was younger. I know it's hard when you are down on yourself or have body dysmorphia like me to stop idolizing images of the perfection you think you want. Just remember, there's ALWAYS more going on than the picture shows. All of us are people with real stories behind the lens. You can follow mine on @headhighheartforward. Today's been fabulous, I got up extra early, cleaned and rearranged the house. Purged lots of material items and added some new ones. I took a nap with the kitties, meal prepped for the next couple of days and even got to read some of this new book I've been hooked on. Happy girl, Happy Sunday 🙋🏼😊😘-

HOW TO GET INTO L-SIT.

LOL….in light of being funny…this is serious.
L-sit…a lot of people think they aren’t strong enough to do it when in reality, they just haven’t been training it correctly.
Make sure your hands are in line with the middle to upper thigh and NEVER by the hips or behind the hips because you just can’t get any leverage to pick yourself up.
Lean forward to push the ground away and mindfully squeeze your thighs but not so much that you have to cramp. Eff cramping.
When you feel confident in your ability to lean forward like a boss and get your butt high start to lean back very slightly with your weight until you feel the legs becoming light….think about pulling your hip crease back as you are leaning forward and then smile because you are a badass.

#mondaymotivation Bakasana Tutorial! I asked on my stories for people to request what they needed help on and I got a lot of requests for Crow pose otherwise known as Crane Pose or Bakasana.

In this video, I show the 4 options to enter from the ground:

1. Beginner or lack of hip flexibility this is for you!Get very low to the ground and hug your knees to outside of arms.
2. Bend the arms like a shelf and rest knees on triceps. Remember to gaze forward!
3. Starting from bent arms, try to lean forward as you straighten the arms. This takes a lot of core and wrist flexibility so make sure you are warmed up!
4. Start with straight arms, bend the knees and place them into your armpits. Lean forward until feet become light.

Remember your gaze is forward not at your feet!! The key with this pose is always about finding ease. If you have to hop or jump into it, you haven't found the balance point. Once you lean forward enough, your feet should become light and you should be able to simply float them up. Don't rush the process because gaining the strength and flexibility along the journey is what is necessary for you to be able to do this pose. TAG SOMEONE who would like this video!
