So I’m still slightly obsessed with glutes at the moment, those of you who have been luck/unlucky 😂 enough to have come to one of my classes recently can probably vouch for this.
But there is method behind my maddened, glutes are primal movers and support the biggest bone in your body, so who wouldn’t want to strengthen them.
Apparently there is an optimal degree to a women’s butt 🍑 (its 45.5• for anyone who is interested). But that’s not reason why I want us to work them, it’s because they can prevent back pain, gait problems and so many other issues our western lifestyles give our bodies.
So in my practise today, to switch them on, I worked on...
Glute lifts from easy pose
Cat/cow with emphases on squeezing my glutes
Puppy press to open the spine
Sphinx to forearm plank curls
Leg raises in bridge
Entering wheel from bridge
Dropping down to supported bridge from shoulder stand.
... I’m tired just thinking about it.
