Full Moon 🌕

The intention I set for this lunar cycle was to rededicate myself to my practice. Then once I set that I pretty much went MIA from here. Off of social media it’s been an up and down rollercoaster so I’ve been spending a lot of energy trying to ‘keep my own cup full’ of you get my gist

I’ve lost a friend I’ve had for 15 years and my cat Munch who I love so so much. Tbh, it sucks and it’s been hard

But...my friend’s death reconnected me with another fiend who I fell out of contact with and whom I missed dearly. The sudden death of my cat led to a conversation with one of my sisters that was very productive and cleared the air on some things I’ve been stressing about for literally months

My grief has caused me to start attending studio classes and has brought me back to being a student of yoga. Oh and I received an opportunity to take another 200 hr YTT. I can’t wait to train under another practitioner and further build on the foundation set by my first 200 hr over a year ago

So I would say that I am going through with my intention and am slowly bringing everything into manifestation

For the full moon I’m burning four candles with my practice and meditation. Earth for my friend John, an earth loving spirit. Air for Munch, my kindred air spirit. Water for my good friends dad who recently passed. Fire to cleanse mine and my loved ones’ energies so we may move on lighter and with more ease

Here are the three Tree Pose variations I like to teach my students.

🌟TIPS FOR BALANCING
.
⚡️Keep a strong focus with the eyes! In Yoga we call this “drishti”
.
✨Engage the core muscles & hug into the midline of the body
.
💫Remember, it’s okay to shake and wobble around. This is normal! We have on days and off days 💁🏼‍♀️ Practice regularly to see the most improvement!

Here is a bit more info on each variation!
🌲FOOT TO ANKLE: Start here! If balance is challenging for you keep the foot low and knee hugging out to the side. Use your toe as a kick stand if needed.

🌴KNEE TO CALF: The next step! Now you don’t have the kickstand anymore, and you’re actually balancing on one foot, YAY! Press the foot into the side of the leg, hugging into the midline.

❌DO NOT PRESS FOOT TO KNEE JOINT!! ‼️It’s not good to put pressure on your knee like this. Be sure to keep the leg above or below the joint!

🌳FOOT TO INNER THIGH: You made it! Keep the foot pressed into the side of the leg and the knee open.
