Today is Day 4 of #RescuedByYoga, and @saltlifepirateprincess presented us with the topic of meditation, and how it has improved our life and/or practice. ✨🔮✨ I can't really improve on what Salty said. She pretty much hit the nail on the head. "There is no way to be a perfect yogi. We aren't the stereotypes, we aren't the trend." 🙌🏻 Traditional, seated meditation is something that I struggle with, but something that I do work toward. I meditate better through movement, and it took me a long time to realize that I was meditating during my yoga practice. I have found a way to connect, yet disconnect, and not only has it helped me grow deeper into asana, I've been able to carry it into the rest of my life. The stillness. The calm. When I'm going for a big lift in the gym, or when my kids are driving me bat-shit-crazy, I'm learning how to find my breath. 🌬✨✨ I DO work on seated meditation, and it is definitely a learned skill. If you are struggling with meditation I highly suggest the Insight Timer app. It's a great guide! Also, @cosmickidsyoga has meditation episodes for kids on YouTube! 😍👍🏻 I wish I would've started meditating a child (it would be so easy now!), and my kiddos love it! #meditation #reverseprayerhands
