What happens when you follow your intuition? ✨ For me, following my intuition leads to alignment. Like my intuition is leading me from where I am to somewhere better, and generally that place is back into balance. Yesterday, I was listening to Oprah’s Super Soul Podcast + she said “Your gut’s always leading you to God” 🙌🏼✨ Sometimes that inner voice gets lost in the noise of our day to day + my encouragement for you is to find moments to listen in your day as it is. Maybe you pause before you start your car, or slow down when you sip your coffee. Listening doesn’t always have to look like meditation or a yoga class. It can exist in between sips of water or walking from your car to work. No matter how / when / where I hope you listen in 🙏🏻✨ The universe is waiting! xx

Listening to your body keeps you free from injury while practicing yoga asana as well as help to develop your intuition to live life from a place of truth and contentment for your greatest good, whatever that may be.

This weeks @yoga_medicine #YMChallenge question is: 'How do you know you are ready to start this journey in to becomming a yoga teacher? '

I don't think anyone knows if they are fully ready to go on a journey they have never taken before, but having the courage to step in to the unknown and trust your instinct despite doubts and uncertanty and with determination and faith knowing that you will give it your best shot is how you can tell you are ready to take a leap in to something new. My self doubts and fears about weather I will make a good yoga teacher, weather I will be able to talk confidently through the classes, weather I will be able to be confident in studio auditions are shadowed by my determination to help people, desire to learn more about yoga and teach people something that will benefit their life. That is how I know!

Day 2 (April 16th) of is 3 Leg Down Dog.
I love the open hip variation because it feels so yummy. Traditionally this is done with your hips squared off.
How to: Start in down dog, lift one leg to the sky! Take whichever variations feels best for you. Open hips will stretch more of your hips, squared off will stretch more in your hamstring. ➡️

Today’s post is not anything too mind blowing.  I was just thinking about how much I love using my yoga strap, however I do not often come across classes that actually incorporate the use of a yoga strap in their prepared sequence.  And that’s cool, I use a yoga strap regardless if I feel so inclined. However, if you teach or are thinking about teaching and you’re curious about regularly using straps in your classes, then check this short post out. :)

Officially finished my last exam and third year of university.

🍦 I’M - N O T - V A N I L L A ...I’m more like black raspberry with glitter on top. 🦄 👉🏻I don’t want to teach just to teach, i want to make an impact on people’s lives and that might be spiritually, mentally, physically all of the above. 👉🏻I want people to feel good in their bodies, to have fun, to be chill AF the end of class but you might work hard and experience discomfort during. 👉🏻This morning i had some new students come to class and my mind went to,”should i stick with my sequence or go more “traditional” for the new peeps? 👉🏻How stupid! Stick to your sequence Jen, cuz it’s awesome!- i said to myself.
Our minds are funny. Our minds love to tell us we’re not good enough, smart enough, skinny enough, strong enough, funny enough .....blah blah blah. 👊🏻YOU ARE ENOUGH. I AM ENOUGH.
I had all good feedback and one woman (new student) said she loved it but didn’t like the shoulder mobility stuff. Ha..she probably needs more of it. 👊🏻Within an hour or so i got an email from another student thanking me for the amazing class saying his shoulders have never felt so good. 🤷🏼‍♀️💪🏻👏🏻🙌🏻 YA CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE ALL OF THE TIME. .

One of the most common statements I've heard from people who dont practice sitting meditation is: I wish I could meditate, but I simply can't sit still for longer than a minute! Then I tell them that just as meditation doesn't mean "emptying your mind", contrary to popular belief, meditation also doesn't need to be practiced while sitting still.
