One day late on International Surfing Day✌🏽My Dad @olireponty taught me how to surf. At a very young age, he pushed me in my first waves, sharing his love for the ocean with me. He taught me that the ocean was special. A special place, a magical place. He taught me that I could do anything I dreamt of, and never treated me differently because I was a girl. He pushed me in waves, took me surfing when it was huge and I was scared, and believed in me and my goals. He taught me that no matter what, the ocean will always resource you, heal you and make you stronger. Through his eyes, I discovered the beauty of Mother Nature, the joy of standing up on a surfboard, the high of adrenaline you get from riding a wave. But what he instilled in me the most was to share that love. Every Sunday, since as long as I can remember, our family tradition was to surf. The 4 of us. No matter what circumstances: school, exams, friends, parties, obligations... it didn’t matter; we surfed. At the age of 16, I would go out and sleep over at my friends house and he would come pick me up at 8, waking up all teenagers and take us all surfing. Looking back, these are the most precious memories of my life... but what makes me even more happy is that to this day my favorite thing to do with my Dad is to surf 💓 je t’aime mon Piou @olireponty!
