Preventing injuries can be hard to navigate without guidance, and getting back on your feet mental, physically and emotional can be tough post injury!

For the past few months i’ve been thinking it would be amazing to have content about preventing, and coping, with yoga injuries in one spot as a helpful resource for both yoga teachers and practitioners. .

I am excited that @yogajournal just put out a special edition about anatomy, keeping your body safe and yoga Injury prevention! Not only am I pleased to find out about the special edition, but pleasantly surprised that my article “5 Ways to Cope with an Injury” was added to the issue (begins on page 13)! Checkout the latest mag at your local @wholefoods or bookstore! .

I wish I would have read this issue a long time ago! Benjamin Franklin said it best, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. Take good care of your temple! .

These last couple weeks I feel as if I've become so much more confident with teaching yoga, I can feel my own unique teachers voice popping out and it feels so amazing .
I didn't know where my life was going, didnt know what I was gonna be or what I wanted to do.
And what started as a "yeah let's give it a go" kind of thing turned into my passion.
I can't wait to continue growing and learning for the rest of my life. I feel so content with everything right now, feel so grateful for the opportunity to follow this path.

Day 5 of #yogifeelsyoga. Today we had to express “peace” and that can have various meanings for different people. For me, it’s a calm mind in the middle of chaos. I chose #downwarddog since this is a pose that’s relaxing. It opens my shoulders, stretches my hammies, and releases neck tension. This is a pose where I just breathe!! That to me, is peace!! .

Day 4 of #yogifeelsyoga. Our expression today is “dedication.” Handstands have always been something I was intrigued with and wanted to do. I used to watch YouTube videos before I ever had IG. So I chose #handstand as my pose for this expression, since I’m dedicated to mastering this pose! .

Day 3 of #yogifeelsyoga. Our expression today is “Compassion.” When I think of compassion, I imagine caring for someone in need or showing sympathy. But another word for compassion is Mercy. Currently, I’m reading a book titled “Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson. It’s a book about inmates on death row, who have been wrongfully accused. Am amazing read......but it makes me think about all those who are fighting for their life, and looking for justice, compassion, sympathy and mercy. So today, I chose #warriorpose for all those who are fighting like warriors to earn compassion and freedom! .

Day 2 of #yogifeelsyoga. I chose #dancerpose as my expression of HAPPINESS. Growing up I absolutely loved to dance. Actually, I just loved to perform. Even though I was a quiet and shy child, there was always something about dance that brought me alive. I was fortunate to have close friends who all loved to dance as well, and it’s something that has bonded all of us together beyond distance and time. It’s like our own secret language. Even though I don’t dance in a group/team anymore, I often just turn on some music and DANCE!! It’s the one thing that makes a bad day or situation disappear!! Grateful!

Day 1 of #yogifeelsyoga. Got to spend the day outdoors with my family today, and I LOVE how they are supportive of my yoga journey. Day 7 of #prepNpress. Today’s challenge involved doing all 5 presses in 1 minute. I tried several times to do them continuously, but was losing strength after the split press. I edited the video otherwise it would have been too long. Needless to say, I didn’t do it under 1 minute, but I am so happy to have even PRESSED into any of these without a prop. Super excited!! Woot woot! Here’s the order of the presses: .

September. My favourite month. Sun and crispy air.
I really wanted to do my yoga practice outside but it was too chilly and windy for my vata body and mind... By this time of the year, in late summer, I use to look forward to the autumn. But this year, not yet. Perhaps there have been so many changes in my life lately, which makes it extra hard for me to let go of this summer. Like there is no room for more transformations than the ones I’m already dealing with.
Or maybe I just really liked the heat.

Day 6 of #prepNpress. I think this was the hardest day! Worked on #crowtoheadstand, and my crow just wasn’t happening. I tried to come back to crow after the headstand, but that was a bit tricky.

Day 5 of #prepNpress challenge. Today is #pikepress. This is really hard because you really have to counterbalance the weight as you go up. I remember trying to do this months ago, and could not get any movement, so feeling good about this. Keeping hips high has been a good learning tip.

Day 4 of #prepnpress challenge. I apologize in advance for all the IG posts. Just trying to finish this challenge. Sometimes life takes over but I knew I really needed to get back into it. Plus, I always want to Finish what I have Started. Today is Day 4 and we worked on the #tuckpress. I was actually quite surprised and did not think I could do the headstand without the wall, and I’m really excited about this progress!
