Day 6 of #NourishWithYin and our pose is Melting Heart Pose. This is one of my favorite back, chest and shoulder opening poses and one I use quite often in my daily practice. Great for quick energy and a lift to your mood and perfect for a very rainy day like today! ___ ___
Pose Tips: 1) Use a blanket or two underneath knees for comfort. From tabletop, shift hips back slightly so they are over knees and then soften the belly as you walk your hands forward. Allow the head, chin and/or chest to release to the floor. 2) You can place a bolster, blocks or rolled blankets under your chest and head if this is too deep for you to sustainably hold. Take hands wider than shoulders for more upper back release or directly above shoulders for more lateral body stretch and shoulders. 3) Allow gravity to take you where you are 2/3 of your maximum pose, not forcing the pose. 4) Breathe deeply and hold for 1-3 minutes.
