The Gardens at Chatsworth, Part 2: A yew maze, planted in 1962, on the site of the Great Consrvatory, which was designed by Joseph Paxton in the 19th century and torn down after World War I. Paxton started his career as head gardener of Chatsworth in 1826- he was 23 years old. This maze was obviously planted during the time of Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire.
