After getting a video from my off season ( #SwipeRight ) from the @kingcarnevale vault I knew I needed to add these back into my Back training cycles again. Progress has been made fam - although it looks like there's only 1 wheel - I can assure you there are ✌🏼big wheels. The last few months I've been trying to decide what I actually want with regards to my body, diet and training and my natural instinct is to jump on a calorie deficit and hit 2 sessions a day but is this really what I want? πŸ€”

I want to be healthy mind and body, whether that's 68kg or 75kg, whether that's 1session a day or 2weeks off training, whether that's 1 meal a day or 10, whether that's carrot cake or rice and chicken.

Opened training today with some heavy DMB RDLs cause I'm chasing those splits 😈 down the backside.
Worked up to 55 LBs but #SwipeRight for the backdown set of 50 x 12. I was timid with the weights today After being in the car for 12.5 hours 😱 yesterday but based on numbers here I really could have put some 60s in my hands. #Sandbagged on a Sunday.

TIP here for keeping your back trauma low and tension in your hamstrings. Don't go to full hip extension by pressing your pelvis forward. You can keep tension in your glutes here too without the thrust.

Contrary to my newsfeed, I did get some solid training in at a quaint little gym in #OBX called Hammerheads Gym. HAI πŸ–πŸ» there #Delt lines - I see you.

I was sore every day; which isn't something I was seeking to affirm my training by any means. I did not increase volume or train "harder" because I was on vacation. In fact, I trained as efficiently as possible and most sessions were shorter than those on my home turf.
Tips to do so:
1️⃣keep movements basic - not the time or equipment availability to reinvent the wheel here.
2️⃣ Use reduced rest between sets to increase intensity and give you that pump to drive nutrients to muscles.
3️⃣ Most likely weight increments are limited too. Train to failure with every weight option you have (you know I'm a fan of this method always). Reaching true failure CAN be effective with lighter than your usual weights; I promise.

Also understand the impacts of your environment on your vacation. I was out in the sun for hours causing fluid and electrolyte levels to vary far more than my typical environment; even with chugging water constantly. This unavoidably effected my training; fatigue would set in faster & max loads were lighter. But again this doesn't take away the fact that these workouts were effective.
Do what YOU can; when YOU can. Take in consideration your external environments and enjoy training while traveling - find those hidden gems (gyms) like this one πŸ˜‰.
