When I was younger, back in Singapore, I was ostracized for being dark skinned. I remember one time when two Chinese girls were playing outside my ballet studio, and I was watching them play while waiting for my next class to start. One of the girls turned to me and asked if I wanted to join them, but the other girl told her not to play with me because I had dark skin (not Chinese). I was young, like 5 or 6. And I ran to the bathroom and started crying. But, because of that, I was determined to prove myself. When I was 7, I won my first international ballet competition, and every single international ballet competition after that, which led me to the prestigious Juilliard School. I love doing this super set (exercise 1 followed by exercise 2 immediately) at the start of my workout. I feel my abs engaged throughout the entire workout after! Give these 2 a try:

2๏ธโƒฃ Crunches on the Hyperextension- 3x10-15

Within 10 mins your abs will be on ๐Ÿ”ฅ The crunches on the Hyperextension are one of my FAVORITE ab exercises. Make sure you get a good, deep stretch and then squeeze your abs super hard and curl up in a C-shape. Make sure you're not activating too much of your hip flexors on the way up.

This is still one of my all-time FAVORITE leg day routines!!! ๐ŸดDONKEY KICKS always get right into my glutes every time. Sometimes I have a hard time with glute activation because my quads take over too much so this is definitely a staple to my workouts. Make sure to press through your HEEL to recruit your glutes the most. And I recommend starting with no weight first to get the feel for it. The leg press machines typically give you about 50-100lbs on its own (you can read the sticker label to find out the exact measurement), so you're still getting a workout!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Set 1: no weight, 20-25 reps
Set 2: machine +50lbs, 20 reps
Set 3: machine + 90lbs, 20 reps
Set 4: machine +90lbs, 20 reps
Set 5: machine +100lbs, 12 reps

Old gymnast habits die hard!
I typically stretch 1-2x after Workouts to maintain my flexibility a week.
If I'm tight, I do more.
This is a lower body routine that I typically do.
I have more stretches that I also uncelebrated but this is the bulk!
If you want to be more flexible..you have to be diligent and work on it everyday!
Holding for more than just a few seconds! The girls I coach in gymnastics hold their splits for 2 min after every practice on an elevated surface! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ It's not enjoyable, but it's worth it.
