What is Freedom to you? Is it going through those alluring gates where you can move safely within the confines of structure and routine, a 9-5 career that shepherds your days, your hours and your progress, the mossy courtyard that comes with office perks and dental? Or is it choosing to stay outside on the pavement , where you could go left or right at any moment and just keep walking, with not a hair brained clue as to what you might discover. Is it waking up each day on that precarious, expansive cliff edge where you get to choose to throw yourself at the little dreams you wrote on postcards and stuck to your pin boards? I don’t know if the tight feeling in my chest will ever go away, but I think I’ll choose the fire in the fear over not knowing any day. The fear of never having tried is surely a worse fate.
