Amusing isn't it?
Whenever you find something different it may hit you, but may not hit others.
I had the same reaction when I met my best friend.
At first you know I was a free person.
Flowing through my way.
I was in a lot places.
And I was cherished for,
But then I met my best friend.
Batty, I called him.
They diverged my paths into the plant.
Oh no, not the real one.
A drinking water plant, I meant.
And they combined mine and Batty's soul together.
I was literally flowing inside him now.
Batty was happy.
He felt he had a purpose.
Well, I had felt of my purpose since a thousand and millions of years.
But now, I was helping in another individuals existence.
You see, Batty is a plastic water bottle.
Oh! The world was delighted to see us!
They cheered and brought us everywhere.
And after they had consumed a part of me.
A lot of Batty's friends stayed on the roads, in the sewage and somehow ended at my place.
The rivers, the ponds, the oceans, the bays.
They clogged my parts. And it was found they were toxic even.
Harming my other friends. The fishes and the turtles..
How I loved to play with them..
I told Batty about this.
"Batty, what is going on mate?" I said.
"Nothing bro. You say?"
"How can it be nothing? Do you even see what your friends are doing to me?"
"What are they doing to you?"
"Oh don't act so surprised. You see them every day. Clogging the sewers. Polluting the rivers. Everywhere you see, there is plastic!"
"Oh. That. Its okay. This how it had to be. Someday or today. So today it is." He shrugged.
I was hurt.
I told him to leave.
To which he said that he would eventually end up in the same place.
My best friend wasn't mine anymore.
What he and his parts was doing to mine,
I felt gagged and confined.
But is he to be really blamed?
Or the ones who brought him to this world at the first place?
I guess we'll never know.
But here I am slowly dying.
I was free. I was independent.
But not anymore. ~Tale written by Surabhi Kumari
