Friday evening vibes has us listening to our collection of Andrew Combs records. Ramblin' Man Revue first encountered Mr. Combs back in 2013 when we saw him supporting Caitlin Rose on her North American tour and he has been one of our most-loved artists ever since. Hailing from Dallas, TX, @andrew_combs continues a sterling tradition of Texas-born troubadours. He released his third full-length studio album 'Canyons Of My Mind' in 2017 and in our opinion it was one of the strongest roots releases of last year. 'Canyons...' marked the continued maturation of Combs' sound both vocally and musically as he delivered a more orchestral and falsetto-infused melancholic ethereal record - his eminence as a songwriter and a poet greatly belies his years and has drawn comparisons to James Taylor, Harry Nilsson and Tim Hardin, amongst others. At RMR HQ we are greatly looking forward to seeing Combs again in Nashville this September as part of Americana Fest, 2018. The picture accompanying this post was taken during Andrew Comb's performance at The Dakota Tavern, Toronto, during Canadian Music Week back in 2016. He is accompanied on vocals by another astonishingly gifted musician and vocalist, Kay Berkel.
