I voted for Trump in the 2016 elections. I’ll be the first to admit that. However, just because I voted for him doesn’t mean I have to agree with all the legislation he passes or decisions he makes. This is one of those times. His decision to consider opening up all U.S. coastal waters for offshore drilling is one I simply cannot stand behind. He is also rolling back sanctions and legislations that were put in place after the Deepwater Horizon disaster. In doing this, he is opening areas like the Atlantic continental shelf that have been protected for decades to pollution and possible devastation like we saw on the Gulf Coast after Deepwater Horizon. Conservation efforts and progress made over the past years will be ruined and our oceans and marine life will suffer. There will be more oil spills. There will be more rig explosions. Anything man made WILL fail. Mark my words. Lets try to stop this before it starts. Tell your local congressmen and Secretary Zinke that this isn’t the future you want for our coastal waters.

#Regram #RG @oceana: #BREAKING: Today, the Trump administration announced its plans to open nearly all U.S. federal waters to offshore drilling activities. This plan opens the floodgates to dirty and dangerous offshore drilling, threatening coastal economies that rely on clean and healthy oceans. This radical offshore drilling plan is a clear example of politics over people, ignoring widespread local and state opposition. Together, we must stand united against this grave attack, before it’s too late. Add your name now to tell Secretary Zinke that you oppose offshore drilling (link in bio). #ProtectOurCoast
