MEL BROUGHTON'S SPEECH FROM WORLD DAY FOR ANIMALS IN LABORATORIES 2018.
Last Saturday we were at World Day for Animals in Laboratories (WDAIL) March- Nottingham. Although a smaller turnout than previous world day marches, the march still had an impact as it moved through Nottingham city centre. People stopped, watched, asked questions and many conversations were had about the use of animals in scientific research.
Amongst a number of speakers at the event was Mel Broughton, an animal rights campaigner involved with the SPEAK campaign against Oxford University vivisection facility. His speech is certainly not to be missed, and his words brought tears to our eyes. 'Why are you so afraid of people talking to each other about vivisection? About what happens to animals, about slaughterhouses, about horse racing, about whatever it is.
Why are you so afraid? I know why you're afraid, you know why they're afraid.
They're afraid because we're right, and they're bloody wrong!' 📸 - @savingmevegan
