Anthony wanted to test out his new lights and editing equipment on me. We decided to film a video with the fitness bands @fitsimplify sent me. This whole video was edited and filmed by @imanthonyjames he decided to use the song from The Legend of Zelda 😂

After the Pyramid Training phase (shown in yesterday’s vid) I go into my superset training. For this workout I did 2 supersets, and performed each 3x, resting 30-45 seconds between each. I also opted here to do one Weighted exercise mixed with one cardio exercise in each set. .

Here we have ski abs!!!! Start from the bottom-

Feet are in line with your hips, knees slightly bent at all times, core is engaged, shoulders are rolled back, chest is up- you are proud!!! Hinge at the hips, bend your knees, lower and bring your arms back, power from the bottom and lift off the ground moving left and right.
Remember to land soft!! 😘. Giver for at least 30- 40sec, rest and repeat

Leg day finisher🔥
▪️tip: looks easy, but super painful...find the right position, place your front leg a bit wider, and make sure your knees don’t go over your toes! Feel the burn in your quads, let the front leg doing the work!/ Enjoy 😘😅

Heading in towards the start of a new year already! Looking back at 2017 I can safely say that I have learnt more about myself than I ever had before. Not only have I gained knowledge and confidence but I have also blown my own personal goals and development as a person out of the water.

To be honest I have a lot of you reading this post to thank! The people that go out of their way to read my posts, send me msgs or even use my product codes to support my journey in the fitness industry. I don’t see it often enough in this industry that athletes actually thank their followers and appreciate them when in reality the athlete at the end of the day would not be in the position they are in without the people following.

Let me tell you what a good idea it was to do the push-up ladder and then do a back workout... so good I might not be able to raise my arms tomorrow!

Additional ankle progress update: the position my foot needs to be in for a push-up is still too painful to do so still have to do them on my knees. No problem though! I’m getting there and all that matters is I’m getting the pushups done but not making excuses!! 💪🏻

One of the best types of lunges & the most functional! But too often performed improperly. One of the big mistakes I see ALL the time is the HEEL POP when lunging. Often times if your step is too shallow, your knee will over flex and travel TOO far forward, causing your heel to pop which puts unnecessary stress and strain on the knee and results in poor muscle activation.

THE FIX? Super simple! Take a larger step, PLANT your heel and drive into the floor to return to starting position. Press through your HEEL & use those glutes babes! 🍑

BONUS #MythBuster: (cue the angry comments 😜) You know that whole “your knees should never go past your toes?” WELL…. While it is correct to avoid EXCESSIVE forward movement of the knee during squat & lunge movements (as seen in the video), that cue is indeed a MYTH. Yep, I said it. For some people, it’s totally fine. It depends on several factors such as your mobility and individual anatomy & length of limbs.

Really think about it for a moment. And you’ll realize its a natural movement. Humans do it automatically from the time they are old enough to squat down and pick up a toy.
.
HOWEVER, This cue has been effective when teaching people of all different skill levels and abilities, especially in groups, and has been a way of erring on the side of caution. As shown in the video, when not properly taught, people often over flex their knee, leading to a heel pop, which we definitely want to avoid.

It’s not always easy but it has to be done. Fitness was not always a passion of mine. Trying to build up these rear delts!! You don’t need to go very heavy on this lift, just chase the pump! You can also use this position to hit delts from a few different angles as well. Squeezed in a strength workout before heading out for my belated birthday dinner with my MIL. Felt great to get it in. I didn’t attend an event because I felt this was important. A little disappointed as it should have been done this morning but wasn’t. Tomorrow may be a different story as I will be on the road for 7 hours and have 3 events to attend. LEGS!!!! here is another couple exercises from Saturday focusing on hamstrings. I spent so much time in the beginning of my fitness journey working my quads & neglecting my glutes/ hammies. When working hamstrings is important to do a stretching exercise & a shortening exercise bc the hamstring is made up of a few different muscles. Actually watched a science explained YouTube vid from @jeffnippard on hamstring development. ▫️Bulgarian spilt squat into SL RDL. One of my favs 1 lunge+1 rdl=1 rep. 4x10.
Focus on pushing through the front leg heel for the lunge, back leg resting on toe, & sink hips back toward the bench. For the rdl keep db close to your leg, back flat, neck in line w/back, & hinge at hip. ▫️lying hammie curl 3x8 drop set each set for 8 more reps. Focus on squeezing glutes, keep hip pushing into the pad, & point toes up. ..............................................................

LADIES PLEASE READ: I trained glutes and hamstrings today and while watching my recordings i noticed how much cellulite i had on my legs when i performed different exercises. I would be lying if for the first 30 seconds i felt down and embarrassed but then i realized WHY AM I EMBARRASSED. Cellulite is NORMAL and i should be damn proud of every inch of it. I work my butt off to look the way i do and even though some days i feel more “fit” then others i sill have cellulite everyday 🤷🏼‍♀️ so ladies never be embarrassed if squeeze and notice those lines. Its normal and your still beautiful.
