Sometimes you need a little surprise at your door for gym motivation. 🍑🙌🏽 I was seriously contemplating heading to the gym yesterday, the weather had me in my feels. 😂 but I received this gift at my door, and I couldn't wait to test it out. Not even exaggerating, HEAVEN SENT. 🙏🏽 I've been wanting to get a barbell pad and @gymsheep popped into my life. They sent me this super cute pink barbell pad, and I'm in love. Let me tell you how important proper cushioning is for your body. I usually push out 5-8 reps using 135 lbs, the barbell hurts me and I just stop. Today I did 1 set of 15 reps, and 3 following sets of 12 reps. This barbell pad is my new bff. I ended up having a killer leg day. 🍑🍑🍑🍑

Kneeling tricep extensions with two ropes 😳😳 one of my favorite tricep exercises rn as the kneeling part of the movement hits the muscle at a different angle and the two ropes give it a more natural and free movement. It's the best of both worlds 💪🏻

Back to basics. I don’t think I’ve attempted the tuck planche push up for over a year. Even the basics were tough when my shoulders were tired from handstand push ups right before.

@johnschalk doing things. Top sets were 247lb/112kg snatch and 269lb/122kg clean and jerk. Snatch has been coming along since bringing the grip in slightly and clean and jerk is improving as well. The catch position of the jerk will need to tighten up moving forward. ╬═╬

Had an average day at the gym. Hit 247lb/112kg snatch the best I've hit it since making technical changes, but missed it about 5 times. C&J's were ok. Catching the jerk lower, but need to bend my back leg still #strongerthanyesterday

🌵Go in with a plan. Don’t “wing it” & waste time at the gym worrying about what to do next. A well rounded training routine allows for incremental progress & provides structure to your training.

🔮Timing rest intervals keeps your workouts shorter, high energy, effective, fun, & efficient. Proper rest intervals not only have physiological benefits, but psychological ones as well. It prevents you from getting sidetracked. It’s easy to get distracted by friends or your phone. Next thing you know, 10 minutes went by & you’ve cooled down. Timed rest intervals improves your training & mental focus.

🏓A superset is when you perform two exercises in a row without rest (rest after completing the second exercise). There are many different types of supersets & they are a great way to keep your intensity up & maximize training efficiency.

☘️A good training environment makes all the difference. Some gyms have an “energy” to them. You walk in & can’t help but have a good session. Same goes with your training partner (if you have one). Train with someone who’s as serious about their goals as you are. Motivate & feed off each other rather than turning into a social hour.
