--DUMBBELL LATERAL RAISES--
.
Okay guys so first I wanted to go a little bit into shoulder impingement as some of you seem to be quite worried about it when it comes to certain shoulder exercises👇👇
.
➡️Shoulder impingement usually occurs in activities that require the arm to be abducted or flexed and medially rotated, such as in baseball pitching. Also susceptible are tennis players and swimmers.
.
➡️This can also occur when you do lateral arm raises to shoulder level with the arm medially rotated (thumb down)👎🏻 as shown above. Therefore to reduce the risk of impingement it is smart to do lateral arm raises only to the level position.
.
👉PROPER POSITION.
.
As with most exercises, stand with the feet planted firmly on the ground approximately shoulder width apart and your knees slightly flexed.
.
To prevent shoulder impingement, palms should be supinated against the sides of the legs and the elbows should be pointed directly back.
.
👉PROPER FORM.
.
1️⃣ Start by contracting the medial deltoids, laterally raising the arms.
.
2️⃣Continue to contract the medial deltoids until they are approximately parallel to the floor.
.
👉ESSENTIAL TIPS TO AVOID COMMON MISTAKES.
.
❌Do not swing the weight.
.
❌Do not come up on the toes to move the weight.
.
✅Lead with the elbows, not the hands.
.
✅The hands should not rise above shoulder level.
.
✅Inhale on the downward phase of the movement (eccentric) and exhale on the upward phase (concentric).

Don't abuse your macros💚❤ What do I mean by that? In my opinion (again, my opinion) there is a misconception about macro counting and being able to eat as much junk as possible as long as it fits your macros. Right?🤔🤔🤔 But remember, you are what you eat so you'll likely feel like garbage if you're filling your macros with lots of processed crap💩 Now, I'm not saying, don't have a treat but I am saying, all in moderation. If you want your macros to work the very best for you then try filling them with 80-90% whole, clean, 1-ingredient foods🍗🍠🍅🥑🥚🍓🍳🍏🍌🥗🍚🍎 It not only helps you feel 100 times better but it'll help you reach your goals quicker. I've been on both sides where the majority of my macros were crap and I definitely felt that way too. Most of my meals look like this along with a treat each day to suffice my sweet tooth. 💥INCLINE DUMBBELL FLY END POSITION💥

💥As you can see In number one, the movement is cut short so I don't touch the dumbbells together. The reason for this is to keep tension on the pecs. When you bring the weights together totally you actually take the tension off of the chest (no contraction with no tension ☹️) so not only do you get less of a contraction but any time you take tension off of a contraction quickly and then put it back under tension quickly (going down after you touch them) you become extremely prone to injury. DONT SMASH THE WEIGHT AT THE TOP! 🙈

💥 Next, notice my arch. In the picture on the right, my back has a slight arch in it. There's really nothing wrong with this except the fact that the reason your doing an incline fly is to hit your upper chest. By cheating and arching your back your basically performing a flat bench fly (defeating the purpose of the incline fly). If you feel yourself doing this just lower the weight and get that form right 😎

💥Lastly is foot placement, just like a normal bench press your feet should be shoulder width apart and planted on the floor. This will allow you to have more control, balance and just lift the weight safely. As your pushing the weight off of your chest plant your feet and push with them at the same time, you'll be surprised how much it helps 👍

Thank you TimeHop for reminding me of how far I've come every year. No, I was never overweight. I was actually UNDERWEIGHT before the photo on the left. I had to gain weight in order to be considered, "healthy" in a doctor's eyes. Everyone grabbed me and said, "omg eat a burger" Or "did you eat today?" I wanted to cry. YES I freaking ate today, and the day before that. Body shaming SUCKS. I don't care if you're 100 lbs, 200 lbs, 300 lbs, etc. You don't deserve to be shamed. I took control of my confidence.
