💚 Chicken and Broccoli Pasta
~
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts grilled and cut into strips. Or you can use baked, broiled or even rotisserie chicken breast.
3/4 lb broccoli florets
10 ounces linguine pasta
3/4 cup heavy cream (personally I would try Greek yogurt or almond milk for the "creamy")
salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/3 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
Optional garnishes: lemon slices and chopped parsley
Instructions
Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Add the broccoli to the pot during the last 4 minutes of cooking time.
Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta cooking liquid.
Melt 2 tbsp butter or try olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat until browned. Add the heavy cream, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring, until thick enough to coat a spoon, about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon zest and juice.
Place the pasta and broccoli back into the pot you cooked it in.

It was such a beautiful day today, I didn't feel like being stuck inside the gym. I did the next best thing and went walking/running on the track, sooooo refreshing.🌸

This simple shift in thought of contracting the muscle to do the movement, rather than doing the movement to engage the muscle, will help you get greater results from ANY workout.
.
Don't simply drop down into a lunge, think pull yourself down into tension. Then with intention and purpose, contract your glute/quad to drive out of the bottom. .
During a push-up think pull yourself down and stretch into the muscle on the way down, then mentally contract your pecs to drive yourself back up. .
.
Don't simply lift up. Be mentally focused and purposeful. Use your brain to engage as much muscle fiber as possible to make that movement. .
.
This simple shift in thought will enhance neuromuscular engagement. More muscle engaged, means greater return on your effort. .

🌞🌞🌞 these are from two different days but i'll give you the run down of the workouts.... 💪🏽💪🏽
first vid (had to do a first workout bc i had a meeting 🙄) 1.) jog 5 minutes
2.) 3x30 second mountain climbers
3.) 3x30 second shoulder circles
4.) 3x30 second caterpillars to push up
5.) 3x30 second cherry pickers
6.) 3x30 second squat jumps
7.) 3x30 second plank to push up position (this is a circuit with a 45 second break and then repeat!!) ••••••••••••••••
2 vid workout
1.) 30 second lunge walk, 30 second squat to right then 30 to left, then walk for 30 seconds repeat until you get to 8 minutes
2.) 3x8 kick back machine
3.) 3x10 good mornings
4.) 3x10 squat with dumbbell
5.) 3x15 sumo squat
6.) 3x30 second pistol squats •
