1 Peter 1:6-7: In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, IF NECESSARY, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the PROOF of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though TESTED by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
I strongly believe every true child of God, whom He loves goes through trials. Trails are the forerunners for elevation and promotion. Faith is a school. No one person tested, who endured and proved his faith, didn't get exalted. Abraham, Job, Jesus, David etc. God wants to see if your claim to love Him, your songs of adoration are true.
Other times, trials are for the building of character. You learn lessons now that save you in the future, when you need it most, like dignity, integrity, perseverance, etc. Also, God wants to see if you are trustworthy enough to carry His blessings before releasing. You know a lot of people fail with riches, they become totally wrecked by material things. But here you are, going through training, a breaking of your spirit so that when you get wealth, and get it in abundance, it won't wreck you. CHARACTER.
Romans 5:3-4: And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.
Jesus told His disciples when they were sad; what I do now ye may not understand, but someday you will.
