I had to tweak this one a little. Because let's be real. I've always been a badass, but even badasses forget sometimes. 😜 #truth #beabadass

Lately I've been getting a lot of comments on my weight, directly and indirectly. Comments about how awesome it is that I lost what I gained three years ago and contrarily advice about how I can lose "the rest" of the weight. While I understand that the intentions for the most part are pure, I don't get why we have this societal idea about what a "perfect size/weight" is and that that's the most important thing to strive for. Honestly, being heavier was harder. But not because I thought I had to be skinnier. Because I felt horrible. I wasn't taking care of my mental or physical state. I was incredibly depressed, almost suicidal, and drowning myself in emotional eating. Some don't realize that binge eating and replacing strong emotions with food is an eating disorder. I truly don't know what would have happened if I had let myself continue down that path. While all of this was happening, was I really thinking about how I looked? The feeling about how I looked was a slightly negative side affect to me, but it didn't devalue me as a person. Once I worked on my mental health and started to make some healthier choices, I started to feel like I could get out of bed and stop feeling so numb. Even at a smaller size, I don't forget where I came from and I certainly don't care about what other people think of my body. Because it's MY body. Take ownership of your body. Love it! It's yours. ❤️ By the way, this photo of me looking like a dingus is from 2014 😛
