Only I own my body.
I was eating out alone with #StelaWonderDog earlier when a stranger approached her from behind attempting to pet her. Stella barked and clamped the air as a warning sign. I did not feel the need to appologise on her behalf!
Why? Because it also happened to me at the beach. A mere stranger put his hand all around my naked waistline, which caused me to bust his balls in front of all his friends: How dare you touch me without asking for my permission?
You see, what may seem as "nothing" isn't only that. It is exacly the attitude that disimpowers women, creates 'ugggh' moments and contributes to #rapeculture as a whole! The message it sends across is: you have no right over your own body, you have to hand it over as I please.
So, please, take full control of your body and next time anyone tells you what to do with it, or demands anything without permission, show some thorns or give them a loud bark as a warning sign.
Now tell me: did anything similar happen to you? How did you handle it?
